Line-up announced: Cudicini; Walker, Bassong, Corluka, Townsend; Falque, Carroll, Livermore, Giovani; Kane, Pavlyuchenko. SUBS - Gomes, Barthram, Nicholson, Stewart, Fredericks, Parrett, Pritchard.

Gomes on the bench?
He really is on the way out.

Bye Bye Gomes, he is now our no3 after Harry spent all summer saying he would remain number 1.

Townsend at LB is a bit of a worry, Giovani needs a big game for us tonight and i'm excited to see what Iago can do.

Why didn't he sell him then?

Couldn't answer that.I think we were hoping that he would show more than he has with the competition from Friedel.I always liked Gomes but he was becoming a liability by the end of last season. But with him being dropped from this game must spell the end.

POAK 0-0 Spurs HT.

A very decent first-half performance, all in all.
Largely the better team, created most of the better chances and played some decent stuff, despite lacking a cutting edge.
Should've had a penalty for the blatant foul on Kane, though we did give away a cheap one.

A few players look like they're lacking a little sharpness, but that's to be expected.
Dos Santos, Falque and Pavlyuchenko all need more game time and Kane looks a little heavy.

Watching that Kane penalty claim again and I have no idea what the officials were doing.
Awful decision.

The ref's done pretty well overall, but he could do with some help from the rest of his mates.

Quite agree not a bad 1st half, but how did they book Kane when it was a blatant penalty. Just watched that Kane 1 again(nailed on pen). But all in all a good performance, got away with the retaken penalty.Youngsters doing well thougth at this level, especially with a very hostile crowd.

Yeah, it'll be a very good experience for them, Pat.
I'm a little worried that they'll run out of steam, what with the atmosphere and the heat, but they've done very well so far.

90 minutes for Bassong, Pavlyuchenko, Dos Santos, Falque and Livermore would be handy.

Oooooohhh! Good effort Falque!

So Gomes not playing I see. If he's not getting a chance in a game like this and if he's not getting on the bench in the league, then I guess that's curtains for him surely... Shame imo. If he could get his head right he could be up there with the best of the world.

'Arry said Cudicini and Gomes will take it in turns in the Europa this year. I expect he'll play in the League Cup against Stoke on Tuesday.

That makes no sense, for me.
Putting Gomes in against a team that's going to challenge him aerially is a mistake.
Should be the other way round, if it's true.

Chris Waddle talking a lot of sense about Kyle Walker to be fair. Really think that Charlie's got to be first choice right back for the forseeable, especially for away games/games against teams that are better than us.

PAOK 0-0 Spurs FT.
Definitely hanging on a bit there at the death, but a good run out for the kids.

Redknapp's change at half-time, where he moved Kane out to the left, seemed to lose us a fair bit of momentum.
As I feared, the youngsters looked very tired at the end of the game and only some excellent saves from Cudicini got us a point.

Hopefully we'll have some players back for Stoke on Tuesday and the next Europa League game, at home v Shamrock Rovers, who lost badly to Rubin Kazan.
