Unfortunately this window is an all time low and slurpy is full on the levy out wagon. Im surprised its come out in the jungle
So the thing which is probably the main reason you can't/won't sign players is the same thing that bought him more time to be better at signing players? please log in to view this image
Arsenal have been contacted by Coutinho's representatives about a loan deal and they've told them we're not interested and concentrating on signing defenders instead. Apparently Spurs are now in for him, with the potential of Eriksen going to Utd. But with a £27m loan fee !!! and £200k wages per week. **** that ****.
Apparently, Barca would continue to pay his wages, but as I can’t see Levy paying the loan fee, it’s a moot point.
Seems to be varying reports. Some saying the high loan fee is because Barca will cover his wages. If Eriksen is definitely going - which now seems really likely - Coutinho would be a great replacement.
Yeah he's a cracking player, or he was when he was at Liverpool. Read a report that you're paying his wages too, but it's all speculation tbh. Either way £27m for a season loan is ****ing mental. If I was Levy I'd put that towards another player and sign him permanently.
Great replacement, but one that would take £100m to make permanent next summer. If they’ve involved the manager then a deal must be close and doable. Makes sense for all parties tbf.
I’m presuming that the loan fee would then be part of the overall purchase option. So if Barca want £100m for him, the £27m loan fee means we’ll pay circa £73m next summer.
It gets them out of a hole if Eriksen leaves. Makes it look unlikely that they'll be siging Le Celso or Fernades this summer though. Crazy fee though, that money is basically the bulk of the fee they were looking at for either one of those players they were trying to sign on a permanent deal.
I don't see why it would be ? You're paying Barca for his services this season whilst he's still a Barca player. If you want to sign him on a permanent deal next summer. Barca are going to be wanting a huge return on that £142m they paid for him
It’s not a mad fee though, given what Barca paid for him, it’s merely the annual cost of his amortisation mate.
Yeah I know mate. But for it to be made public that he’s spoken to him, means that a deal is possible financially, otherwise it’d be pointless and certainly not released, as it’d be an illegal approach to boot.
If that fee includes part of the writing off Barca's of debt if they sell to Spurs next summer it could be. But don't they still owe Liverpool something like £80m for him ? Barca are going to want somewhere near £100m for him next summer if they sell
I think Barca know they won’t get the £142m they paid Pool. £100m-£110m would be more realistic and I can’t see Levy sanctioning a deal where we pay £27m and then £110m+ the following summer as part of the purchase option. Could be wrong but just doesn’t seem like something we’d agree too.
