Depends how you look at that we sold many great players and spent **** all in the 80s and We only spent mpney for 2 or 3 years.. other clubs spending was not only going on for years prior , but it was also sustained ...

Exactly so PL clubs or the FA just giving money to the lower leagues is not as simple as some would think, there would need to be a fair process in place to keep the money out of the hands of the wrong people.

I'm referring to the money you spent chasing our tail in the mid to late 90's only to fall short and win nothing.

It can not be denied Newcastle threw money at it during that period. As did Leeds.

Neither achieved success.

Blackburn likewise, although they did win a solitary league title. For all the good it has done them.

Ergo, no, you can't always buy success..
