Am i missing something here. Why should there be a border between the Rep of Ireland and The EU because the UK is leaving the union ?

    Ahem...

Mr Gove told the Daily Mail in March this year: "We didn't vote to leave without a deal. That wasn't the message of the campaign I helped lead. During that campaign, we said we should do a deal with the EU and be part of the network of free trade deals that covers all Europe, from Iceland to Turkey.

It's always cringe-worthy seeing a politician telling a joke and waiting ages for the audience to laugh

But there's a serious point here which seems to have escaped Brexit Bin. We are all being told we have to reduce our carbon footprint for environmental reasons, so it makes sense that countries consume more of their own products, rather than flying apples etc around the world at damage to the planet and consumers eating them when they've been kept in chemical storage and are already a year old.

    Buy good local produce!

No politician, Leave or Remain, could ever have guaranteed during the Brexit referendum that we would definitely leave with a deal from the EU.

It's an impossibility because it was not within that politician's power to deliver it. Another party had a say. The EU.

Michael Foot was another good man who’s reputation was destroyed by the MSM with stories of the KGB and Donkey Jackets.

The party that had the crucial say was the ERG. The EU agreed a deal.

The draft deal was post referendum. Your Gove quote was about the campaign leading up to the referendum.

There was me thinking it was going to be embarrassing, cringe worthy and painful...

...but it wasn’t really, was it? Bit weird, but I generally agree with her sentiment. Not a ‘disgrace’, but I’d prefer it we as a nation were set up so we could effectively feed ourselves if necessary rather than relying on imports.

Back to Welsh farmers’ fear of 40% tariffs on exported lamb when we then find ourselves importing more lamb from NZ.

A quick bit of Googling suggests we import 20X as much ‘sheep meat’ as we export, so surely we can consume Welsh lamb domestically instead and reduce the imports?

    France mainly.

The profit goes if the tariff is 40%.
