The saving grace is that I've taken 7/2 against Smith, Root and Stokes scoring over 200 between them in the first innings. There won't be many left for Root and Stokes to get.

Yes we have let them off the hook, it might cost us as England are more than capable of ****ing up

A couple of overs left tonight. Only bad things possible.

They saw the two overs off without damage. A good day's cricket which sets up the series nicely. Let's hope England have sorted out their batting.

For decades, Australian cricket has been built around 'mental disintegration' on the pitch and intimidating crowds off it like Bay 13 at the MCG.

    Reap it, you ****ers.

Isn’t it the number of convictions the Aussies have had for cheating

    Totally agree.

These cheating ****ers don't deserve respect, no matter how good they are.

Watching the highlights, I noticed Siddle got very generous applause after his efforts with the bat.
They won't mention that I'd imagine.

The cheats deserve all they get.

Thought the crowd were fantastic yesterday.
    Looking forward to watching today.

Was the ball-tampering really that bad? They served their time. I like that they get plenty of grief/banter now but can still appreciate that Smith is a genius and the best at what he does.

Yes, the ball tampering was that bad.
Yes I can appreciate how good Smith is.

They give far worse down under, just because we're poms.

    They deserve all they get.

Ok. Was it worse than, say, doping or match-fixing? Just asking as a more casual cricket fan. I like the theatre of it all but don’t get any genuine hatred for Smith and the others.

Ordinarily getting the Aussies out for under 300 on day 1 I'd have taken that before start of play.....but it really was a missed opportunity....they got 100+ more than they should have...

Batters need to give the bowlers a rest today....

    That's incredible.
The ball hit Root's off stump pretty hard.

Make the most of it Jo!!!

It happened a few times in the World Cup. That one was quite a whack, though.

Burns has looked much better today.
