Hoover has been tried there in preseason also larucho before he got kicked to the moon, the Scouse lad too the lb I think
Playing Gomez at RB is the worst thing we can do. Not only does it have a toll physically on Joe, he’s actually not that good there. It also means it limits his minutes at CB as well, which is a massive waste. Same issue with Milner at LB in that he’s not that good there. Given our reliance on our full backs to attack, and that Trent is arguably our biggest / only playmaker, we lose so much if we miss even one of them. Adequate cover there is crucial IMO.
We all accept that everyone's entitled to an opinion, positive or negative but you can't call someone out for labelling something correctly.
I don't like Gomez at RB either. This is one of the areas I would strengthen if I were God. Unfortunately I'm only a saint.
How much Harvey Elliott’s move from Fulham could end up costing Liverpool Metro Sport ReporterTuesday 30 Jul 2019 2:09 pm please log in to view this image Fulham are looking for a record compensation fee for Harvey Elliott after the 16-year-old moved to Liverpool this summer. The teenager, who became the youngest player in Premier League history at just 16 years and 30 days, rejected a scholarship with Fulham to make the switch to Anfield. However, the clubs could not agree on a compensation fee (due to Fulham for Elliott’s development as he is under 24) so it will be decided by the Professional Football Compensation Committee tribunal. The Cottagers are hoping for this fee to be in excess of £10m, report the Evening Standard, which would break the record for a tribunal fee, which was set by Liverpool when they bought Danny Ings in 2015. The Reds paid Burnley £8m for Ings (£6.5m up front, plus £1.5m in add-ons) and then 20% of his £20m transfer fee when he moved to Southampton (£4m). please log in to view this image Fulham are hoping to receive more than the Clarets did for Ings due to Elliott already having two Premier League appearances under his belt well before his 17th birthday, and that he was also being tracked by the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and RB Leipzig. Age, appearances, reputation and substantiated interest from other clubs are all taken into account by the Professional Football Compensation Committee, so Fulham could be in a strong position. https://metro.co.uk/2019/07/30/much-harvey-elliotts-move-fulham-end-costing-liverpool-10488067/
Question - is it that clear that Gomez is our next best defender after VVD? Gomez was brilliant before he got injured but Matip has also been outstanding...
Matip has proved himself brilliantly towards the end of last season. Who is partner VVD between Gomez and Matip is an interesting question
For me, yes. Matip was good but because we had to defend deeper, there was more space in midfield and games became more open. With the pace of Gomez, the team was more compact and we were much more comfortable
There was some general shouting after the second goal between the two then when questioned afterwards vvd said it was okay for the pair to argue (ish) not good for me that The chats should take place inside away from the world Was also on one of the Liverpool apps
Now I am not a pedantic sort by any means but you clearly explain above why you say you don’t worry as there is no point worrying when something isn’t in your power But you will worry when the season starts You getting a job at Anfield where you will be able to do something about it at that point
