Cunningham is easily the best left back in the Championship who has to sit on the bench. Very sorry if he does go - Bennett could get crocked anytime and he would be a first rate replacement, but you can't blame him for wanting to play.
So, if glatzel signs for £5.5M, with 2 each for whyte and vaulks and 6 for flint, thats 15.5 out the door and 11 in for ken and bruno. Looks to have been some good dealing. Now, a couple million each for tomlin and madine and it will be some excelent dealing. Would like to hold on to cunningham though.
Agreed on Cunningham. Tomlin probably worth £1m or so in view of his age and poor last 2 years. Madine? 2 satsumas and an apple.....
Full post on Whyte's announcement. please log in to view this image Cardiff City Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Northern Irish winger, Gavin Whyte, subject to international clearance. The 23-year-old joins the Bluebirds from Oxford United for an undisclosed fee, signing a four-year contract which will run until the summer of 2023. A Northern Ireland international, Gavin scored for his country with his very first touch as he made his debut against Israel in September 2018. He made a total of 36 league appearances during his time with the U’s, scoring seven goals. After signing his City contract, Gavin spoke exclusively to Cardiff City TV. "I'm delighted," he said. "When I first heard about the move, I couldn't wait to come here. "I give 100% - I'm a hard worker, I'm positive, I like to go forward and take players on... "Now I can't wait to get the kit on, play as many games as I can and help this great Club to be where they need to be." Neil Warnock also spoke to cardiffcityfc.co.uk, adding: "I watched a lot of Gavin while we were scouting Curtis Nelson. "He just excited me so much. He's full of enthusiasm and is just the type of player that we were looking for. "I think he'll be a fans' favourite for years to come."
Didn't a young lad, Brown I think, come on as sub for Bennett last Saturday? Did Coxe get a run out as well? They should only be blooded if good enough or with the potential to improve to the standard needed. The coaching team see them day in, day out, so will know what they are capable of or not as the case may be. You just can't throw them in and hope for the best.
It is said Coxe is highly regarded by the staff and by wales age group. I agree you cant just chuck youngsters in, but it would be nice to see one or two on the bench. I always think its unfair to judge youngsters in a much changed cup side. They need to be the only change in an otherwise first choice team so they have experience around them.
Some other clubs transfer news Ben Woodburn has gone to Oxford on a season loan. Bit of a coup for them but surely he’s good enough for a champion team notwithstanding it didn’t work out at Sheff U last season. Brighton have offered 20m for a Brizzle defender, having already lost one to Bournemouth for a decent wedge also. Sheff U reported to be about to increase their offer for the scruffy Scot. Why?
Don't know what went wrong with Woodburn last season after some great shows the year before. Difficult for youngsters to break through at Saltypool though. Perhaps Div 1 is a better place for him to start rebuilding his career? Webster is the guy Brighton have bid £20m for. Not seen him play so can't comment. In fairness the Wurzels have brought on some good players in recent years. If they weren't a selling club they could do well. As for McBurnie he has something about him besides being a scruffy git. He knows how to find the back of the net. Looks like the Blades had a choice, him or Madine.
Glad Glatzel signed. Just a creative midfielder needed now and squad complete as far as I'm concerned. Madine, Damour and Connolly should go. I'm happy with Ward and Bogle as a back up for Glatzel with Paterson also capable of playing there. Telegraph says Villa have an £8m deal agreed for Tom Heaton. That should see Etheridge staying. Smithies will probably leave so some money to come in for him. Hope Cunningham stays. Good to have 2 good players covering each defensive area.

Read that Heaton is going to Villa for only 8m. So that should end their interest in Etheridge. Ps How is Mcscruffy worth more then double him?
