The problem is we haven't got a Tom or a Dick at the moment, and Harry went back to Bournemouth last season.......
Hey Nin - we might be getting that Harry after all............. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/cardiff-city-transfer-news-live-16660005
Think it might be wishful thinking. And not sure he's the creative midfielder we need. Too similar to vaulks.
I agree remote - on a couple of counts. As aggressive and "Warnock like" a player as he is, he's not going to create much - more of a destroying force. Secondly, as he's still with Bournemouth presumably he's still on 40 grand a week. That was reasonable in the Premier League, but there's no way we'd pay that in the Championship for someone like him.
I may be the only one but I would love to see him back with us. He is still rated by Bournemouth fans if not by Eddie Howe. He was limited last season playing in a generally struggling side. That would not be the case in the Championship where he will have more opportunity to make runs from midfield and get off shots - what he was known for doing as Bournemouth came through the leagues. I've not seen Vaulks so can't compare but from what I've heard the 2 together would make a formidable partnership. However money is the key to this and there are others better able to afford his services and there is a family relationship with Scott Parker at Fulham. I would hate to see him playing for them against us. Still no bloody striker news!!!
Bogle in player exchange with Oxford for Gavin Whyte?..................... https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/07/...-must-hijack-cardiff-with-2m-gavin-whyte-dea/
If Warnock is even just considering letting Bogle go, he has to have something pretty concrete in place up front to replace him. Otherwise at this rate with both him and Zohore gone, we'd be relying heavily on Paterson coming good again.
He's saying he's after a couple, but its 50-50 on anything coming off. Either its a smoke screen or he's lost the plot. I quite liked what I saw of bogle, but there seems an issue between him and colin. Not exactly going to be a settled side going into the first game. Hopefully colin is freeing up cash and wages for a new signing. Don't know if I'm alone in this, but I'd be ok with ethridge going for anything over £10M. One keeper needs to depart.
A double figure millions offer for Etheridge and he'll be sold. Day and Smithies both have enough about them to do us well in this division. As long as any Etheridge money was used along with the Zohore cash to bring in the player(s) we need, then I'd have no problem. There just has to be some more investment in this side if we're to lift ourselves above the "good" sides in this league because at the moment we're just one of them.
Bogle looked more like a striker than Madine ever has! How old is the lad? Every transfer window under NW has been painful. Makes all the right noises but never delivers on the marque signing. Better say nothing methinks. He's good at getting the likes of Etheridge, Bamba, Hoillet, etc.. I believed the midfield is the place to fix, not up front, now he's let Zohore go and now Bogle! Leaving us with the likes of Madine. FFS. Rant over.
Apparently we've been linked with Andrea Petagna, a striker from Serie A club SPAL in Italy in the past. Leeds have just tried to get him for 15M euros but have been turned down - SPAL want closer to 25M euros but might take less. Shades of the Sala negotiations last Janury. Nantes wanted the same figure but settled for less - could we be that bold again?
Bogle is a better bet than Gary Margarine. I’d be dismayed if Bogle was let go without someone better coming in.
Robert Glatzel anyone? Cardiff hoping to sort out deal worth up to £5.5m for Heidenheim striker Robert Glatzel. He's flying to Wales today. Scored a hat-trick away at Bayern Munich in German Cup a few months ago.
Cunningham on his way out? Shame. We need cover in all positions. Would leave us light at left back. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...s/greg-cunningham-ready-quit-cardiff-16668539
