If fans really want to make a statement at their distain, for what Ashley has done with regards, to the signage on both the East and Gallowgate stands. Then I propose, a 10 minute chant continous, at the next home game of "Sports Direct is ****ing ****". Even if Blackburn score, that shouldnt stop the fans from chanting. Its the best 'protest' in my mind. Could even make it quite hostile to Blackburn too. God bless em.

Pretty sure you'd hear 'So are Venkys!' as a response...

what was up with your attendance on Saturday could it be that bruce lied/or was lied to about gyan i mean it's a tad embarrassing to be on local tv on friday evening stating he's going nowhere then the next day he's gone but then your super chairman comes out and says he went Thursday ooh dear nice to see you have a bunch of lying twats who pull the wool over fans/managers eyes just like we do <ok>

Sorry mate, i don't speak cabbage.

I'm only surprised that anyone's surprised! Man in the sports retail industry buys a football club and sticks advertising for his company everywhere, why wouldn't he? Shirts will be next when current Northern Rock deal expires. Only hope we have is that he'd like his companies to be associated with some degree of success and entertainment, otherwise we really are shafted!

What really boils my piss is that under normal circumstances if this were any other company, we would be due a royalty payment from said company to display their logo. sports direct and newcaslte are both ashleys's but they run as two totally separate entities. This being the case, newcastle as a club should be due a payment from sports direct as they are supposedly sponsoring our ground. I understand that it all comes out of the fat mans pocket at the end of the day... But it sort of flaws lambias's argument of Ashley having to bank roll the club. Any money going in should be deemed as sponsorship from sports direct, yet instead, lambias hails Ashley as some sort of Geordie saviour......aye right, do me a favour.

Are people still talking about the original picture - I can't be bothered to read through all 7 pages. It's really bad photoshopping from what I can see, you can still see the old lettering underneath, underneath where the 'artist' has put the new layer. Unless it is 'dirt' left by the old sign, which I would be very surprised about, it would be a bit of a waste of time not painting over/cleaning the area where the old sign used to be.
FYI what I'm referring to are the 'shadows' of the old logo you can see at the right of the new signage. Also, anyone wondered how this picture was taken? Seems to me it comes from a helicopter, which I doubt happened.

There's several pictures from different sources all showing the same thing, as were there showing the old lettering being removed (which did leave dirt marks, Christ knows how old that sign was). It's real.

May be true then but that picture is 100% photoshopped. Badly

It's really not, the old sign was there for longer than I can remember. Think of all the weather that's been through, it's bound to leave fade marks on the stand itself which wouldn't otherwise have been seen if it wasn't for the new lettering.

It's not faded, which you might expect. It's black. Also if you sample the colours around the letters they don't match the colours on the outer sides.

On some of the other larger versions of the pic on google the difference in colour and pixelation is very obvious

Clarence, stop kidding yourself. Those pictures are real.

This is a building I walked passed yesterday which instantly reminded me of the East Stand sign.

You get the same effect if you have a picture on your wall for years and years.

I said the stand itself was faded, not the lettering. The differences in colour may be different, but you haven't mentioned the lighting in all the pictures, the one in the OP is in the sun, yet the others from what I can see appear to be taken when a cloud was covering the sun, this will have an effect on overall colouring, especially on pixelated images.
