Sterling loan deal appears off according to Sky
Clives's report from LFW on the loan signing of Jan Mlakar has a good video on some goals which he scored.
However, it alos very neatly reviews our current appaoach to purchaing players and succinctly voices many of oure concerns. Well worth a read:

That’s really dismissive of the new bloke. He was obviously a first pick for Maribor last season, and I’m willing to bet that Maribor are a better team than QPR. *sorry Col, couldn’t resist. But Whittingham really is miserable.
Walburton also wants Leischner sold according to David M, WLS.

He also said “we know next to nothing about him” and that he falls into the “so green they have barely sprouted” category of loaned. We know he has played, and scored consistently, for a better team than QPR.Can't agree with the "doom and gloom" aspect in the article. The comments on our current transfer policy are probably quite factual and are fully in line with my thoughts. However, I do not rule out that the R's have driven me to becoming a "miserable old git"!
As for Jan Maribar, the comments look quite ok:
Jan Mlakar is a 20-year-old Slovenian youth international forward from Ljubljana.
The 6ft-tall youngster spent time with Fiorentina in Italy as a junior, making one senior appearance and a further three on loan at Venezia. He returned to his homeland to sign for Maribor in 2018/19 and a good first half of the season with 12 goals saw Premier League side Brighton sign him on a three-and-a-half-year deal in January for the dreaded undisclosed fee. They immediately loaned him back to Maribor for the rest of the season and he finished the campaign with 15 goals in 36 appearances as Maribor won the league title.
He has been capped by Slovenia at every level from U15s through to the U21s and their B team and has now signed a season long loan deal at QPR having been recommended to the R’s by Mark Warburton’s former assistant manager David Weir, who now works as the development manager at Brighton.
Some changes were needed for sure, but this looks all too like QPR StRangers again to me, like under Hughes 2nd season in the PL, with far less money involved of course. I do hope he is bringing in large sized replacements for Smith and Leischner, if he is going. They will be needed when we come up against the aerial bombardment we will get against the likes of Millwall. Can Hall and Barbet handle that? I doubt it.To be fair, changes were needed.... the squad from last season only just kept us up ! Honestly thought last year the defence were very slow ....Do we really think the same squad would do better this season ?. I like the fact we have brought in new faces ,although some are older looking ones. Fully back MW hope he knows what he is doing as long as we play well and finish higher than last season, I'll be happy. I think I'm right in thinking that from next season we can spend more as we would be out of the FFP cycle.

Yes, I hope Cameron comes in, but to provide cover. We also need a big CB, like Worral at Nottingham who we were supposed to be interested in.That I think is why we are getting Cameron back.
We had a pretty good defence at the start of the season (ie...after the first 4 games/after we had signed Cameron.) Whilst he played we had a good Sept, a truly excellent October and an OK November...and then Cameron got injured.
He gave last years, even slower defence good cover
