Are you a Labour Party member? Have you read the accounts given by Jewish MPs and members of the party that have received a constant level of abuse from other Labour members? This has come to the fore since Corbyn became leader. I find it depressing that a party I had supported for over 40 years has become what it is, a Party of hatred for those who don't share the extreme Left mantra. They are as bad as the extreme Right, a situation in which there are no winners...
Was jesus a jew?

I'm definitely not a member of any political party and no, I've not read anything written by any Jewish members. What would I learn if I did?

I was referring to the part in stroller's post where it says anti semitism is on the rise in many parts of the world.

Granted, I can't vouch for many parts of the world, but the parts I've been in and the stuff I've heard doesn't lead me to agree with this sentence.

Again, lots of criticism of the Israeli government, their dealings with Palestine etc etc, but that isn't anti semitism, is it?

So, what am I missing?

I don't sense any negative feeling towards Jewish people, towards the state of Israel, absolutely, plenty of people question the behaviour of the Israeli government, just like they do the U.K. government or the US government or Russia or China, but that doesn't amount to hating British, American, Russian or Chinese people. What am I missing?
Read the flyer again. Corbyn has been pretty late in condemning it but the examples he gives are very clear - especially the guy who thinks Hitler was misunderstood. It really is about time that Labour politicians learned to distinguish between the state of Israel and individual Jews. It really is such an easy cop out to justify your treatment of someone that he or she belongs to the same ethnic group as a small nation state which behaves in an oppressive way to its Palestinian population

We need concrete examples of what is acceptable here and what isn't. Attacking the race or the religion is not acceptable - nor is it acceptable to use negative stereotypes to describe the whole group. What is acceptable is criticism of the Israeli state and of the political consequences of Zionist belief - the problem is that it is, apparently, not allowed that I describe Zionism as a racist endeavour, even though it leads to forms of segregation. I can describe Apartheid as racist - but do the same with Zionism and the sparks will fly.

Pretty uneducated on this especially as it should affect me more than most but I thought Zionism was about all Jews being in Israel but not just Jews. Israel is a pretty multicultural place all things considered and mostly secular.

Nice place for a holiday but I won’t be moving there unless WW3 starts and I have to. We still won’t have signed a striker by then.

Any ideology which places value on being ''Gods chosen people'' is not in a position of being able to accuse others of racism. The fact is that variations of Zionism promote the unfair confiscation of land, involving the expulsion of Palestinians (altogether the dispossession of about 1.5 million of them). The fact that the Jews once lived in the area now called Israel does not mean that they are the only ones with a claim on calling that area their home - the Palestinians have just as much right to be there as they do themselves. The fact is that Arab land was taken away and given to the Jews as the result of human rights violations in Europe - based on the fact that they had lived in that area 2,000 years ago. They have no more inherant right to that land than any other people who have lived there over that period.

Anyone else watching the incredibly drawn out coronation of the next PM? Who will, I predict, lead one of the shortest lived governments in history.

Jesus, this is more long winded than the oscars. Everybody needs five minutes to congratulate and thank each other for organising a closed shop election.

Boris 92,153

Hunt. 46,656

Let the carnage/fiasco begin!
