Yes but that's the advantage of a game which has over 200 years of 'what it's?' in its rules. All the players understood that and accepted it.

A few observations:
The Kiwi's reaction to their narrowest of narrow defeats is admirable in the extreme.
Ben Stokes performance shows that keeping going no matter what is an excellent attitude for life.
Jofra Archer has balls of steel.
Good things come to those who wait. (I stayed up all night in 1987 to watch us fall short).
Finally, I hope Andrew Strauss can smile tonight. He deserves that.

Jack Duckworth and Huey lewis got involved after some of the other shambles of rain in tournaments past. Great they got involved.

I watched it but wasn't able to get on here. Went through every emotion what a ****ing advert for not just cricket but sport. My heart was beating like bloody mad. This is why sport is awesome. This game had everything.
Totally thrilled for the England team. NZ did everything they could but we did get that bit of luck when needed. Overall through the tournament I think we deserved it. Reading this thread though is very entertaining. Great stuff.
