There’s speculation we may offer Llorente a new contract at reduced wages (understandable). This would somewhat seem plausible, seeing as the club hasn’t officially announced he’s left like they did with Vorm (albeit removing him from first team profiles) whilst Llorente himself hasn’t indicated he’s left and still has ‘Spurs player’ in his social media bios.

Hope we do, proved very handy when used correctly and you won’t get many better players happy to sit on the bench most weeks.

Does anyone else think it's really weird that so many transfers this window go through completely unopposed?

Los Ladrones signed Jovic without anyone else submitting a bid
Leicester signed Tielemans without any opposing bids
Man Utd signed Wan Bissaka and Daniel James without any opposing bids
Everton signed Andre Gomes without any opposing bids
Lyon appear to be on the verge of signing Joachim Andersen unopposed
We signed Ndombele where, depending on who you ask, there were no opposing bids or Man Utd/Juve were putting off making a bid

On paper you'd think there would have been transfer auctions for the likes of Ndombele, Tielemans, James and Wan Bissaka, but instead the market seems to be one gentleman's agreement after another, and it's bizarre

A lot of the big clubs all need different positions too which helps. None of our rivals needed Ndombele so that left the way clear for Spurs to put a bid in and get the deal done.

Had Man Utd sold Pogba before we got the deal done then i think it would have been a different story.

Sometimes when you're looking for the next person to fill the Llorente role, the best person for the job is Llorente.

Also, as in business, there is the "company culture" aspect.

How long will it take a like for like replacement to adapt to
whatever training regime + squad ethos exists at Spurs and
become at least as productive as Llorente currently is ??

His £100.000 per week contract runs out so Spurs don't renew and give him a chance to find another club , if he don't then we will resign him for a yrs contract for £50.000 per week , is that how it works ?

He’s at universal studios in Florida but looks like he might be trying to tell us something:

Football League World report that Swansea are considering a potential loan move for Tashan Oakley-Boothe

I wouldn't be against that as he could do with some first team experience, especially after his development got stunted by various injuries last season

Been a bit behind the past few days just seen apparently we're in talks for Ceballos but it's only a loan? And also Roma have approached Toby?

Both pretty strange moves if I'm honest. Poch doesn't do loans in, nor would it help us in the long run if he leaves at the end of the season and Eriksen leaves either this summer or next. We'd be back to square one but worse. Can anyone see us pulling this off as well as getting Lo Celso.

And Toby to Roma seems unlikely. They can't afford to pay him more than we can offer, nor for that matter should he be stepping down a level at this stage of his career.

Olmo is the weird one for me, as the various blogs and ITKs are arguing amongst themselves about whether we're interested in him or not

Allegedly ...

1. Spurs want to loan Ceballos, with the option to buy next summer.

2. Ceballos is happy to be loaned, but wants to be able to return to Madrid at the end.

3. Pochettino is not prepared to block either a squad player
or the development of an academy prospect, if #1 is not in the deal.

IMHO if Lo Celso comes, Ceballos on loan is a "nice to have" .
Ceballos alone : see above.

Toby to where ...

He knows that :

1. Levy will be vicious in preventing him going to a PL rival

2. The silverware winning Euro clubs that would pay the wages possible in #1, are not interested

IMHO his best hope is that Spurs give him a new contract with a fair wage increase.

Need to get Eriksen to stick or **** off asap. I think that’s holding us back now. 4 weeks of the window left and whoever we buy won’t be ‘match fit’, no doubt.

It’s a shame for the lad that he was given one of the biggest stages of last season to sell himself but he fluffed his lines and didn’t turn up. That’s why clubs aren’t piling on top of each other for his signature and no one really gives a fk about his need for a ‘new challenge’.

He needs to hurry up one way or another...either get gone or start pretending you was just depressed etc and didn’t mean it and get on with it...I’m bored of it now...we have got a season to prepare for and unlike popular myth....the first game, does count, the 3 pts are important and it doesn’t matter that we have another 37 games to go.

Hurry up mate <ok>

They will not be needed on PL week 1.
The squad is more than strong enough, without NEW CM or fully fit Eriksen.

A hack the other day got it spot on (concurring with what I have long said) .
Specifically that "new challenge" , and "want to play in CL" before it, are euphemisms for
'want a lorryload more money' (my addendum is that the silverware becomes a nice bonus
and not the raison d'etre) .

Eriksen has to accept what some of us have long said.
Good that he is, he is that by virtue of being part of a good machine, and not
because he is a one man PL wrecking ball like Bale and Hazard have been.

Ask Levy for as much money as you can get, and wish you well on that.
If not. expect the club to try and get rid well before you run the contract clock down to zero.
