HULL CITY PLAY THEIR FIRST PRE-SEASON CLASH AGAINST LEYTON ORIENT ON TUESDAY NIGHT AND ONE PLAYER WHO IS REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THE CLASH IS ERIC LICHAJ.
The Tigers face the League Two outfit at the Marbella Football Center in what is the Club’s first game under the leadership of new Head Coach Grant McCann and full-back Lichaj believes it will be a boost for everyone in the squad to put themselves in a matchday mindset once again.
“Everyone wants to play,” he said. “Personally, I’d rather skip all the training in pre-season and just play games but unfortunately it doesn’t work that way.
“You have to have the training in order to play the games. We’ve got two games over here in Marbella – the first of which is against Leyton Orient tomorrow night – and everyone is looking forward to being back out on a pitch.
“It will be good to get the kit back on again. You always look forward to getting back out there and playing games again after time off. As a group, we can’t wait!”
Reflecting on the week-long training camp in Spain itself, Lichaj continued: “Hopefully it will continue to be nice and warm for us over here. It’s usually a lot tougher training-wise when you go abroad and nothing is different here.
“I know it might seem like a bit of a holiday looking in from the outside but I can guarantee that isn’t the case whatsoever.
“We’ll be working hard every single day we’re over here and by the time you’ve had your evening meal, you just want to go to bed and rest up because you know you’ll have another tough day starting the following morning.”
