Agree 100% with nearly all of that.
Re. the 1st paragraph, I think we are saying the same thing, just coming at it from different angles!
In your scenario, assuming the Allams are asking for £50 million (supposedly owed to them, not the value of the club), and receive £5 million straight away, then the debt and asking price becomes £45 mill ...... but the buyers know they have £10 million coming in over time so the net cost to them of the purchase becomes £35 mill.
Likewise with the Harry sell on of £9 million IF that deal gets done and the money comes in post-purchase. The net cost of £35 mill reduces to £26 mill.
£26 mill becomes much more realistic (but still probably too much). And all the above is still based on massive assumptions including the Allams actually wanting to sell and proving themselves capable of finally getting a sale over the line.

When we sell Bowen and the money from Harry etc comes in, why on earth would we be worth anywhere near the £25m mark?

    It really is that simple.

The simple answer Kemps as we know, is that we would be worth nothing like that. Only remaining assets would be players and I can't see north of £12m, all offset by the liability of The SMC which I'm sure the Allams will want rid of as part of any deal, so balance sheet value given the club at best may break even going forward is precisely that, c£12m.

It still remains a punt, but one which at c£12m will appeal to some who otherwise would not be interested in acquiring. For sure whoever acquires the club will need deeper pockets to fund a challenge at the top end of the league above and beyond whatever they pay to acquire the club in the first place. The Allams statement of wanting the right owners to sell to rings hollow I fear.

Because that's the going rate for a Championship football club, regardless of whether or not they have a Bowen on the books.

When you start talking £20-25m for a Championship football club, there'll always be interested parties, regardless of the current squad quality.

Owning your own ground plays a significant part in that selling price, and we don't

We do have state of the art training facilities in Cottingham though.

It doesn't play that big a part, we have a completely rent-free stadium, it's still an asset.

Any new club owner could possibly buy and it and could definitely still develop it.

Which will cost a lot of money. Surely these things bring our worth down?

If any new owners have their eye on the big money, they know they'll have to invest big style in the squad. They'll know the asking price won't be the end of their business.

Blackpool have just been bought for £10m, they play in a tin shed, in League One, and have barely any players at all. There's a ceiling on club prices and for a Championship club with recent Premier League history, we're still an attractive proposition and there'll definitely be interest at £20-25m.

Fair play, you'll know more than I do about these things.

I hope to God you're right.

    We wouldn't be.
£25million ish is simply what the Allams would be asking for the club .... if they were true to their word (forget that then). Absolutely nothing to do with what we are worth.

    Superb and rank at times.

You're coming across a bit desperate to be negative about us buggerlugs.

If a transfer fee is in instalments is the sell on fee also in the same payment profile or is it all up front.
