Namby Pamby. These prats receive protest votes every generation or so and then do the ‘David Steel lets prepare for government‘ spaff. They should go back to completing forms in Woman’s Own and teaching geography to dribbling adolescents.
Plaid Cymru and the Greens not standing in the Brecon and Radnorshire by election to allow the Lib Dem’s to be the Remain flag bearer. So, every little election is now a mini referendum. And the lie that MPs are all about representing their constituents on a range of issues is neatly exposed. Plaid and the Greens obviously don’t think they have anything distinctive to offer the people of Radnorshire that the Lib Dem’s can’t provide. The MP is just a number in a House of Commons vote, nothing more. And of course, even if they win by this little ruse, it won’t change anything at all about Brexit.
The way our system is, if a party honestly feels they have zero chance of winning they’re better off backing someone who can best represent their interests. It’s a **** system to blame, IMO. In such fragmented times a relatively low number of would-be Green voters could make the difference. Expect to see Farage’s mob not stand in certain seats in future for much the same reason if they’re arsed at all to stick around long enough.
I asked an ardent remainer the other night, who was banging on about the 48%, and how the government needs to take their views into consideration, how, if they were in charge, would they address the concerns of those that voted to leave if the vote had been one where a two-thirds majority was needed for it to carry. She couldn't answer the question (the person in question is extremely erudite and opinionated normally).
The answer that i have had to that from europhiles when questioning that, is that we do have accountability through the national governments that we elect, and they act on our behalf.
I dont know too many who would class themselves as proud to have JC as the leader of the opposition either. I think hes a weak contender but certainly not anti semite.
And technically it’s true. Just like it’s true that we vote in a general election, a party then forms a government with a leader chosen not by the people but by some party members, and that leader then picks ministers from the limited talent pool available. And we end up with Chris Grayling in the cabinet, no matter what he does, making decisions on our behalf and spending our money. I love democracy.
Anyone who leads a party with such a poor anti-Jewish record and does nothing, is at least tolerating it. And his reaction to that painting spoke volumes. Voters aren't stupid which is why he's so incredibly low in the polls
A lot of voters are extremely stupid. I've met a fair few! As I pointed out, the future PMs comments dont seem to concern anyone. It's just another example of hypocrisy and corruption in this country. I cant comment on the reaction to a painting as I dont know anything about it I'm afraid.
So May didn’t trust Johnson with some information when he was Foreign Secretary. Why the **** would you appoint someone you don’t think can be trusted with sensitive information to a job which is knee deep in sensitive information? Odder and odder in the Playschool Version of politics.
All he needs to do to prove that Bob is sue Hancock and Gove who have both called him an anti Semite outside of the safety of the Commons. Or challenge them to a duel.
Women in Canadian parliament turning backs on Trudeau - any comment? please log in to view this image if this is really true then either theres lots of female mps in canada or they are not allowed to sit with the men
Looks fake, do the women all sit together? Anyway, last time I looked Trudeau isn’t a flag or a tune, so no need for anyone to burst a blood vessel with indignation at this gross lack of respect.
