Is it really more ridiculous for somebody who believes in Europe to turn up and carry out European politics than for somebody who doesnt give a **** about European politics to get involved in it just to sabotage it?

It's like somebody hating football coming to a football game just to steal the ball from people wanting to play.

Of course I knew it would hit us hard.......I’m sorry I cannot see how all you remainders knew that this would drag on and on . We should have been fully into our recovery by now.

There's also 16 million that voted to stay the actual majority was 1.3 million far to small for such a momentous decision, in a fraudulent referendum the electorate being mislead by the Barclay brothers, Rothermere and Murdoch propaganda. It takes a looooooong time to organise a trade deal. The one EU just organised with various south American countries took 20 years. Obviously shorter for individual countries though. Even to start with we were only trying to organise a deal that would see us through the transitional period after we officially left while we work everything out. That's still what we are doing.

This current period of Brexit is just the first stage.

There's three plus years of posts pointing out the decisive disaster it would be. Various posters with varying degrees of dismay, What sort of a triumph?

There is no way in the world you or I could have known we would have dragged this on and on!! If the E U had a mind we could have negotiated a decent withdrawal. We have been bullied from the start of this. However it’s not the EUs fault where we stand at the moment. Yes I do think we should have another referendum. I have a lot more confidence in us as a country to more than look after ourselves. As for influence we have lost a lot of credibility because of the are we will we nonesense. Let’s get it done one way or tother.

I think that claiming that we have been bullied by the EU, is a typical Leavers response to finding out that you voted for a false promise, that leaving would be easy.
In this case you really should be shooting the messenger.
I suppose it’s the natural step from claiming (not saying you) that we weren’t in control of our own laws because the EU was setting them.
It always has to be the fault of the EU, when it isn’t.

Have to disagree. I think most people knew it was going to be a **** show. Even the Brexit bandleaders knew it, which is why they all ducked out for a bit real quick when the vote came through.

England's terms for withdrawal are incredibly stupid. You're the ones leaving but you act like the EU owes you something. "Right, how about this? We leave the EU. And then we get to enjoy all the benefits the EU makes possible, but we don't make any of the sacrifices it takes to bring about the benefits. You pay all the costs, we get all the rewards. What no? You don't like that? Odd."

Withdrawal was always going to be a mess, because they were promising things they had no ability and no intent to ever deliver. And they still are.

And if you think this is bad, wait until you actually withdraw or get booted out. It's good that it's dragged on so long, because it made it so abundantly clear how incapable your government is of taking charge of anything. Except apparently, the voters are still too stupid to see it.

Bullying not a valid claim particularly with the Irish border problems so easily swept under the table in 2016.

Well I'm very sorry, but I did. Cause I did the research and didn't go blindly into the vote.
This is what pisses me off more than anything. People who vote for something when they have absolutely no idea what they are voting for or against. It might be fine if the vast majority wanted it. It might be fine if it was actually beneficial. But the fact that people had no idea, and could be so easily hoodwinked, I find pretty much intolerable. Be sure of what you are voting for, or as sure as you can be. Gut feeling does not cut it when you Leavers are changing my life, and the younger people I care about too. I don't want your future. I want one that gives me more stability, freedom of movement within Europe, the ability to go live and work there at any time I want. It's why I'm learning two European languages currently, and I'll maybe learn more as time goes on, like Portuguese.

Indeed. They didn't want us to leave. They don't want any country to leave. If they would negotiate a great deal for the UK, other countries may just consider the idea. And even though they've obviously been preparing for our exit, if we said, 'sorry for buggering everyone about, but we've come to our senses, and we'd like to stay', they'd almost certainly welcome us back. Because everyone is stronger together.

They really absurd thing is that some people - quite a lot of people actually - still appear to believe that they will roll over, once they have Boris facing them across the negotiating table.

We have fallen down a rabbit hole, and emerged in the theatre of the absurd

Salvation is on the way now with "The Almighty" Boris promising to get 20,000 new bobbies on the beat in order to defeat knife crime. (ignoring the fact there are 20,000 of the right calibre who want to join in the first place, and then the subsequent training that is involved). And of course he is going to unite the United Kingdom again because as we all know, Boris "The Almighty," is a miracle worker. And then the NHS and education will be restored to its best as he invests in the infrastructure whilst at the same time reducing the burden of taxation, because Boris is "The Almighty." I am salivating at the mere thought of this "genius" of a man becoming PM.

But, but, but!!!! Anything is possible with Boris "The Almighty" as PM because he is such a clever man, such a brilliant orator, so cunningly persuasive that trade deals and everything else will be done by 31 October. And then on 2nd November we can celebrate "All Souls Day" as the life will have been sucked right out of us.
