So where does Perez fit in? He won’t displace Vardy as a ST or Maddison as AM. If we play 443 will it be Maddison Ndidi Tielemans Perez Vardy Barnes Or could be a squad option but seems steep for that. He seems to fit as a wide striker but if we want to play with actual wingers I’d hope we are still in the market for someone. Seems more likely we will be selling Maguire and the current circus is to bleed every penny from them not actually that we have no intention of selling
On looking at the Newcastle board and other forums - they don't seem overly bothered about losing Perez - Jury out on this one methinks ?? 48 goals in 195 games - strike rate of about 1 in 4. Although 12 goals last season in a relegation threatened team wasn't bad dunno..... just don't know bit underwhelmed to be honest ... Can somebody convince me on this one?????
He is 25 so spent most of his time learning at Newcastle and having to play defensive He will be allowed to attack alot more and have better players around him. I think its a great signing
Agree with this. They are quite toxic playing under a negative manager so hard to judge him. His numbers are quite good considering. Maybe it’s like us with Maguire where they just see that it’s a good price
Discount Mahrez Seems the fee us upto £30m. Lets hope hes a wide player that can contribute some goals. Can't see another RW coming in, if Tielemans gets done too, then we've already spent £78m. Any other signings would mean Maguires off surely.
Alot of talk of Man City are close to signing Nathan Ake from Bournemouth. I dont think it will effect their interest in Maguire as Kompany has left and Otamendi might be going so they will need 2 centre halfs
Can see him displacing Maddison at AM - is a hardworking player in the mould of Okazaki. Maddison will just be moved over to LW where he has done good work as well.
Leicester have rejected an approach from Brentford for goalkeeper Daniel Iversen, Sky Sports News understands.
I think that will depend on the opponent. If a team has slow full backs then we will play with direct wingers Rob Tanner and John Percy have both said once Tielemans and Perez are signed a winger is next so Perez has come in as Vardy’s cover option. Obviously will play another role aswell. If we only sign Justin, Perez, Tielemans and the winger thats a great window for us depending on what happens with Maguire
We are linked with 20yo CB Dan Happe from Leyton Orient - they are willing to do a deal where he is loaned back there for the season which should work for all parties.
So they dont lose him to other clubs They have earmarked him for the future but prefer he goes out on loan for now like we have done with Benkovic. Of the clubs to loan to best to leave him where he is settled and will play aslong as they are playing at a standard good enough for that player
Reports are saying Tielemans and a RW still coming in. Im honestly not sure we need an out and out winger, we have that in Albrighton that is very good at everything "wing" related, i'd rather we play with inside forwards to get more bodies in the box. Schmeichel Pereira -- Evans -- Maguire -- Chilwell Ndidi Tielemans - Maddison Perez ---- Vardy --- Barnes
Toby Alderweireld has a £25M release clause at Spurs. While im 95% sure he would turn us down should we have a cheeky go at trying to get him to sign?
