Yes. Have you watched our midfield play away from home this year? It is painful. I have said all year they aren't good enough. Every single last away game we have played this season, we have wound up chasing the ball. That is not good enough for a top team. It really isn't. Honestly, watch any away game. Our midfield reacts to threats rather than actually being proactive. When I look at rival teams' midfields and look at United's I just pray that our brilliant attack and defence can make up for the obvious weakness but it is about time our weak midfield was addressed. And can anyone honestly say that they can look at our midfield next to our rivals (and we are meant to be competing with our rivals) and say it's as strong?

This season will go down to the wire, both Arsenal and Manu dropped points today, but I think it will be these teams fighting it out for the title.
I think you only have to have a memory slightly better than a goldfish to remember that Chelsea are not quite the indestructible force we had them mistaken for at the beginning of the season - and spending ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã50million on a player that will spend the majority of his time on the treatment table isn't going to make that much of a difference - they'll lose a game soon enough and then all the doubts will come rushing back again.

Once Valencia and Park come in our midfield has totally different options.
The fact that we don't have "hollywood pass" style midfielders doesn't make them as poor as your making out.
Fergie prefers grafters. And with us being top with one league defeat, who can argue with him.
To call our midfield SH** is abit over the top.
We are one creative midfielder short. Chuck Modric in for example, and honestly We would look a different team.

Don't believe that. I firmly believe that by investing (on top of what was already the best squad in the league) Chelsea have guaranteed themsleves a strong chance this year. What's more. I would put good money on that purchase scoring tomorrow against his former club. Bottom line is, money does tell. That's why Stockport are where they are and why City and Chelsea are where they are. There are anomalies but the trend is there.
It isn't though. What our midfield lacks is the abiluty to keep hold of the ball during periods of high intensity. When the opposition lift it a gear, there is no team worse than Man United for falliling back and going on the defensive. It's really poor and I can't see Park or Valencia changing that. Having said that, i do think we miss Valencia's crosses as I am now convinced they are the best in that league.

i thought they were WUMs at first, but no they're serious. i find it amazing how people have reacted to this. It is our first league defeat since april. i dont think there is a horrific problem myself...
Compared with other sides it is.
Scholes - Too Old.
Fletcher - Water carrier, absoulute no techniquie, guile or skill whatsoever. And is in awful form and has been all season. Its a joke that he is playing truth be told. He cant even carry the water at the moment.
Carrick - Another water carrier, despite improving this year he is still average, never takes hold of game, never will.
Giggs, played well since the liverpool game but over the last 3 years thi shas happened a lot, has a good run of games for about 6 games then runs out of steam.
Park - Another water carrier. Wroks hard. But is technically not at the races.
Valencia - Doesnt have a left foot, and now nani is the player he is he isnt going to get his place back on the right as nani isnt as good on the left and valencia is no where near as good on the right as nani is.
Anderson - Our best CM but cant buy a consistant run in the team for love nor money. So no point in bigging him up because he isnt going to play.
All season away from home our midfeild has been dire. Which is why we have drawn most games, and lost today.
Please bare in mind, in 2009 liverpool only lost 2 and drew 11 and lost the title. We look to be heading the same way because quite frankly away from home were trash and that is down to our midfeild.
It's a question I often ask but if you watch us away from home, you'll know it isn't through great football. Sorry to burst the bubble but we will not win this league. Chelsea will win it and, given that we had a 10 point start, it's pretty much the best thing that could happen to us because even the most delusional fans, those incapable of thinking for themselves will HAVE to ask questions if (and when) that happens.

No but considering we could only stick 2 past a league 1 club I suspect their acheivment in comparrison is not to be sniffed at.

The problem is that never during Fergie's reign has our team appeared so weak. He hasn't spent and tbh there is not a man on the planet that would take our team over Chelsea's. Not a single man. I know we can't outspend them but we could surely attempt to strengthen a midfield that is average in the extreme. The problem is that we ignore this midfield and so many fans say "Fergie knows best" without actually having the balls to trust their own judgement (and why follow football without having your own opinion?) and notice that the midfield is poor.

And whats your point here exactly? Any players that play for utd be firsy or fiftieth choice should be able to go out and batter league one opposition. Our midfeild that day included ando, scholes and gibson and still got out played till giggs and nani came one.
Considering Fergie has put this awful weak team on top on the prem and unbeaten until febuary. you could argue that he does know best
