No. If I recall, we had 4 4th choices and no 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice CB’s. VvD and Gomez (prev a RB) took up the first 2 spots, Matip worked hard for the #3 spot. Lovren is our only 4th choice left.

If he's really as good as the masses make out (I don't know, I haven't seen much of him)... If he really is in the makings to be as good as VVD... Then you have to sign them when they're available.

When we need a CB next, there might not be anyone close on the market. Get him long term now and we're golden in defence for the upcoming roaring 20's.

... Of course that's IF he's as good as people say.

At 19 he should be working his way up to that kind of money when he's rightly 'earned' it through hard work and dedication and not by having it fall in his lap.

If I was his parent I'd be advising him to do his 'apprenticeship' at the clubs that are going to develop him best as a player and a person. Look for the challenges not the easy wins.

cmon, none of these players rightly ‘earn’ their money. They get given obscene money for s job most would do for a normal yearly wage but he’s not like he’s demanding that kind of money by sounds of it, in that case he has earnt it through hard work and his performances.

He's a big lad and has scored a few headers, but so is Harry Maguire and wouldn't give a packet of crisp for him.

I know what you mean. Maguire is a meat head and nothing more and cant believe a City would be in for him, Utd I can understand. He is also 26

De Ligt is 19 and captains Ajax. Physically dominant at such a young age, but can get up and down. Plus under Van Dijks care for Netherlands and Liverpool if we were to get him.

Personally I think our game is more suited to a Gomez and Van Dijk type. Pacey, can play the ball and fit the system. I think De Ligt can be that, but we dont need to spend £75m for something that we dont really need

There are medals, and medals. Winning the French league is not comparable to the PL, Spanish or Italian leagues. By playing in a crap league PSG suffer when they have to play decent teams in the CL.
