For me: a) I just ignore this press ****. When the player does what the players does then judge him imo. There's so many bad actors in these stories, people putting out what they want heard not the truth that there's no point listening, the truth will out in the end.. b) I am confident that he is not coming to LFC. Theres no logical reason why LFC would stab gomez in the back here and no logical reason for the club to pour all the money available into a position which has some strength. Further all noises from the club (what the club wants us to hear) admittedly) is very little change will occur this summer.
I think its more important to break it down for these players French league (useless) played 29, scored 9, assists 7 CL played 6, scored 3, 2 assists. so he missed 2 games in CL including the last 16 first leg v barca. there were a lot of games where he was just marked as "not in squad" for the game rather than injured. I had to look a bit more and i now recall he was injuredin world cup later in tournament and missed start of season, thats a couple of league games, he then got an ankle injury, he was then rpeorted to be out with "muscle fatigue" whatever that is. It seems to me this guy is a good player but very close to becoming another sturridge potentially. Niggles and quite a few after 2 serious knee issues. If we want a punt i'd suggest we get shut of lallana first.
by your logic we would spend 75mil on a 4th choice CB. (he wouldnt be btw) he is the problem with that bit of logic. De ligt = right CB. Lovren = 3rd RCB and 2nd LCB choice. Neither matip nor gomez have ever played LCB (i'm sure gomez could give it a go) So.... With gomez, matip, lovern and emergency Fabinho for RCB we will spend 75mil there but sell the only LCB cover for VVD.... not much logic i'm seeing mate
training with world class players to play nothing games they can sleep walk through and play 6- 8 CL games.... hmmmm...... #neymar.
it was there to be smashed out of park. consider it the same and smashing a lad in training. 100% commitment to arguing 100% of the time.
At 19 he should be working his way up to that kind of money when he's rightly 'earned' it through hard work and dedication and not by having it fall in his lap. If I was his parent I'd be advising him to do his 'apprenticeship' at the clubs that are going to develop him best as a player and a person. Look for the challenges not the easy wins.
In an ideal world that makes a lot of sense but he is one serious injury away from not having a career at all as are all players. It must be very tempting to sign a contract that guarantees your financial future come what may.
I understand all that but even at the age he is now, he will have earned enough to have set himself up for life. If he goes to PSG on that salary, he's clearly going for the money and that speaks to his character - greedy - pure and simple.
