Looks like the clubs only ambition is to make net profit in transfers then.

When we are being outspent by small clubs like Bournemouth, it just takes the piss out of the fans.

Small in a way yes , but look at who owns them ….

My point being how much they are spending . Is that even legal ?

Anyone know how this changes (or not) the whole RH is getting backed this summer or he’s off thing? I think it was @Beef who said, but I may be mistaken.

Only those fans who think we should just spend money come what may.

I can't really be arsed to check but I'd be willing to bet a fair amount that some of the people moaning that he's not going to inject loads of cash are the same who have been moaning about City and Chelsea doing the same for years.

I find this whole desire to spend at any cost etc. completely baffling tbh particularly when it's clear our owner ain't got a pot to piss in.

I don't want Gao to spend money he doesn't have, I want him to sell the club. That said, I do think that he should spend what money the club does have, where the previous regime wasn't fond of that either, because it's the best hedge against a situation where he does have to spend money he doesn't have.

I don't think he hasn't a pot to piss in, I just think he doesn't want to loose all he has amassed in his life on us.

I'm not going to worry about Gao too much as I have said before, I tend not to worry about things that I have zero control over.

PS It is is bit **** though that we find one of the tightest multi-millionaires though to buy us

What is the largest amount of profit we’ve made in the last 7 years, in one year?

Using the after-tax numbers:

Year ending June 30 2014: £31.0m
2015. £12.3m
2016: £5.0m
2017 £34.1m
2018: £28.6m

I would have thought 2017 would have been our biggest with Europe and the cup final?

Swear they announced that year as record too.

He is getting backed

Is your take that this is fake news to keep prices down beef, or just that there’s ~25-30m above player sales available, but that we’re pretty confident we will manage to shift the dead wood at reasonable prices? What’s your thoughts on our net transfer spend? (I’ll accept wages play a part too)

There is being backed Saints way and being backed a big club way both ways are different. Ralph will still be backed as much as we can or he walks. Ralph knows we aren't going to back him with ****loads of money that make Saints have -£100m in transfers.

The thing I will say with this article, is I think Saints fans need to temper what they think a little club like Saints can do, it's why we don't attract the big guys. There simply is hardly any growth in our club. I get people not liking Gao, I don't get people moaning at lack of splashing cash out everywhere.
