‘Pool.

To prevent claims of world domination by the Landon teams.

Saying this is akin to saying that I’m gonna put a kitten in the microwave for laughs but, hey ho, it’s only football.

Robbo to score a wonder goal to soften the blow.

Absolutely Spurs 100%. Considering how many Hull reds there are I'm amazed anyone on here would want them to win. Robbo is still a legend though and I would be happy for him if they did succeed, but only him.

Also Spurs winning makes Arsenal fans even more angry, which is a huge plus.

I'm at a wedding but hopefully I can sneak away at some point to watch it.

I really don't mind who wins, I guess Liverpool might just shade it because of Robbo, I hope they win for his sake.

Having said that, Spurs have been the source of 3 great players for us, Jake, Tom & Ryan, so I guess they will be rooting for the Spurs.

I just hope it's a good game, and the best team on the day wins.

The most important thing is it is an English team that will lift the cup.

Is that the wedding where a Liverpool fan is getting married and his best man supports spurs?

Hope Spurs win.
Met a few Spurs fans and they all seemed pretty decent lads.

Nah, it's the one where some shallow ER type vaguely attaches himself to a random 'successful' club and his best man had done the same except for a slightly less successful London club.

They are not supporters, as they don't go to games or pay money or lend vocal support or actually contribute to the winning of games on the day.

They are more like 'sympathisers' or 'hangers on' who want the reflected glory or feeling of success to rub off on them

It's like a football version of the Eurovision Song Contest where millennial types gather at each others' houses and 'support' on their favourites from the sofa.

Good post.

Liverpool for me. They were my dad's team after he came to England from Canada in 1936 to become a RAF pilot. Was initially based in Chester where he met my mum and was shot down over the Med in 1942 a couple of months before I was born. He was never found.

Have been to one Champions League Final played at Wembley in 2011 when Barcellona beat Manchester United.

I used to live in Tottenham and generally found their genuine local supporters to be decent people. Sadly even in Tottenham itself the majority of football ‘fans’ were non-attending plastic Gooners, who then as now were broadly a graceless bunch of ****ers.

Other than a baffling preponderance locally for plastic reds I never thought I felt particularly strongly either way about Liverpool until they were so dirty when we played them (think it was the 2-all draw iirc). After that I embarrassed myself with just how funny I found the iconic moment of Stevie G falling over and their dreams collapsing around them.

So Spuds for me, with a consolation goal for Robbo if possible, or Dennis’s 4-3 with a hat trick for him.

I always enjoy a warm glow as I recall yet another failure for the bin dippers in the 2013/14 season, especially as our 3-1 drubbing of them certainly helped prevent them from taking the title. The 3-1 win AND the Gerrard slip were certainly season high points for yours truly <laugh>
