Andrew Marr destroyed Farage the other day. I know what you mean, but as TSS says, what’s the alternative?

That was the first time I’ve seen someone from the Beeb actually ask pertinent questions and really dig at him. Previously they were only allowed to let him speak his tripe. Hopefully this is a new direction for them and I’d hope they give all the politicians an equal roasting if they’re speaking tosh!

Leadsom is an appalling and shallow opportunist who stands for very little and falls for anything to serve her own self-interest.

Resigning less than 24 hours before an election drubbing and as soon as you get a whiff off the Prime Minister’s impending departure.

You stay classy, Andrea.

I give you my MP

<doh>

The Tories do have more than their fair share of thoroughly stupid MPs. Leadsom, Rees-Mogg, Duncan-Thing, Mark Francois; all exceptionally thick.

Not saying Labour and Lib-Dem MPs don’t have their faults, because of course they do, but rank stupidity among Parliamentarians appears to be very much a Tory trait. Come to think of it, I don’t think Cameron is too bright.

Man......... non of them will come out of this with any sort of reputation.........or they didn't aught to.......

If you look at the way the BBC has constantly interviewed Brexiteers, given Farage a platform to spout his doctrine and rarely given the Remain side any chance to speak, then I think that says it all. Question Time has even had UKIP candidates seeded in the audience to argue the case for Brexit. It sickens me
I think you're just noticing the stuff that differs from your viewpoint more Dave. I bit like the phenomenon of seeing your model car everywhere once you've bought one. I always gather the BBC News from their website, and it's about as even handed as an even thing. If the Beeb start taking sides they are finished as an independant broadcaster financed by the people.
It's funny, but I'm pretty damn sure that most people don't think of the BBC as independant of authority other than the people. There's almost nothing like it in the rest of the world, and it is the envy of the media world too. Only us people take it totally for granted.

I've personally seen the BBC as remain biased. Mostly because its core values tend to lean towards remain imo.

Either way it has rules it tends to stick with which makes it less biased than most.

This guy is far from stupid!! He is cold and very calculating. Very Himmlerlike, allegedly? He appears to be immune when the Tories get hammered at the polls when the GE comes.

Well .... I’ll agree that it’s better than Fox News, but I still don’t agree that it’s still independent. Look at John Humphries on BBC QT - he’s so unbelievably biased he may as well be working for Fox.
I think the Beeb have been put under pressure re funding by the government and I struggle to find anything on the media which is truly independent these days - just when we need it

That’s what it is mate - the BBC are running scared of their many enemies in the Tory Party

I disagree completely Ides - he’s an idiot, one who thinks quoting a bit of Latin makes him look clever. IQ of a fence post.

But he is the least stupid of the mob (ERG) he leads. The way he acts might be a way to goad people into loathing him. At least in this way, he is talked about, whereas the MP for Havant is rather anonymous, which is perhaps the best way to act given the inevitable fallout.

He actually believes the rubbish he spouts about WTO terms etc. Boris Johnson and Farage know it’s all twaddle but don’t care so long as it benefits them.

The European Research Group has produced no serious research of any kind, at all. They’re flat earthers mate; actual idiots.

Fox News is a BAD example, Dave. I mean jeez, I can't believe that Fox News is a news outlet. It's a propaganda machine only. As I said, I gather my news from their website [and others, and believe me, BBC News tends to have less bias]. I rarely watch television news as it provides editorial comment, which is opinion, even if it is sometimes expert opinion, which is being told to you at a rate that is hard to research and digest. Therefore, I don't take TV or even Radio news. Try reading website news. You can chew over it until you are satisfied.
