We were never gonna buy a big name CB when Matip has been brilliant and Gomez was great prior to injury. Other areas are far more of a priority.

Jurgen Klopp is eyeing a move for veteran Bundesliga striker Max Kruse.

The 31-year-old currently plays for Werder Bremen, but the forward announced that he would leave this summer.
Tottenham have also chased his signature but the Anfield club are now in the converstaion.

Liverpool have reportedly asked for information on how to sign the player, according to SportWitness.

Harry Wilson to Wolves. Liverpool have apparently slapped a £25 million + plus add-ons plus a 20% sell on fee on him. Wolves are said to be willing to meet the asking price.

if true thats an absolutely mad fee. i like the lad but he needs to do more in play..

Edwards is a genius, how the **** did he get Bournemouth to spunk £19.5 million plus £5.5 million in add-ons on Solanke? £12.5 million on Ward a 4th choice keeper. £20 million from Saints from Ings? That's permanent on July 1st. Ings has agreed a 4 year deal.

If i sat here and someone offers me 20 quid for my lunch time sandwich and i say yes am i a genius :)

its a spurious discussion as its a market and if people want to offer for players and we name a price and they pay it are we genius for naming a price or are they stupid for paying it?

Bournemouth for example are wel known for thier transfer policy.

bournemouth paid 10mil for brooks for example. he did ok for that this year. played pretty ok.
they bought mepham for 12mil
afobe, begovic, ibe cook....

they buy british, young and pay the going rate

Ward was leicester thinking schmichael wanted to go.

as for ings... southampton badly needed a forward and they tried before the bought... so what?

same guy who recommended markoivc and balotelli etc...

seriously though.. neves looks like he'd need a lot of work to me. We'd need to be a bit patient to get him up to fitness we work at.

It's not just one individual that picks players. They go to Klopp and give him a list. You have to remember Klopp wasn't originally 100% convinced on Mo Salah. They chewed Klopps ear off.

It's a think tank and Michael Edwards does the negotiating whilst Klopp has the final say.

It's called scouting.... the technical director role is about leadership not being a genius.
