its a spurious discussion as its a market and if people want to offer for players and we name a price and they pay it are we genius for naming a price or are they stupid for paying it?

Bournemouth for example are wel known for thier transfer policy.

bournemouth paid 10mil for brooks for example. he did ok for that this year. played pretty ok.
they bought mepham for 12mil
afobe, begovic, ibe cook....

they buy british, young and pay the going rate

Ward was leicester thinking schmichael wanted to go.

as for ings... southampton badly needed a forward and they tried before the bought... so what?

I don't think you'll find us talking up harry wilson. we sent him on loan. he wanted to get a chance at our club. the point is people can see what the player is worth. they have in the past told edwards to get ****ed over say origi and we've been left with players, sometimes he fails to get any club interested and sometimes players act the cock.

teams want players we are willing to sell. simple really. I find it hilarious people wish to ignore the market considerations and make out he's getting way more than should be possible and primarily based on a couple of deals Bournemouth did with us which have followed what they've done around the championship.

So you reckon when a team calls and says we’re interested in X liverpool turn around and go yeah we don’t really want him, he’s not in any of our plans and we’re teying to get rid - what’s your offer?

Maybe in the press we aren’t talking them up but negotiating happens obviously. Reckon Bournemouth came in with opening bid of 19m for solanke? Reckon palace came in with 26m bid for sakho or benteke?

Of course it's not one man. However Michael Edwards does the negotiating and he's done some serious negotiating recently. He's the one that sold Coutinho for twice the amount Barca were willing to pay in August 2017. He included the 'Barca clause' a £90 million premium if they go hunting our players. He also included a 20% sell on fee on Coutinho. He also ensured the likes of Sadio, Mo or Bobby don't have release clauses.

first off Spain has legal requirement for release clauses. England doesn't so nobody has those clauses. no genius there.

second there's no real standing in law for such a clause... it sounds great though.

It can be included. There is no suggestion such a clause cannot be included. Bobby Firmino actually has a 'You cannot join Arsenal' clause.
