Will be interested to see what's behind this. Hadn't seen Dean in 'club ambassador' mode until my book launch and thought he dealt with the general anti-Allam mood very well and he was fantastic all night. Will also be interested if they look to fill this role and who that person will be. Many of the likely candidates are not fans of the owners...

Hull City part company with club legend and ambassador Dean Windass

The 50-year-old scored the Tigers' winning goal in the 2008 Championship play-off final

Dean Windass has left his job as Hull City’s club ambassador after four years in the role.

Windass was first appointed to the position, the first of its kind at the KCOM Stadium, in February 2015 but the former striker has now been told his contract will not be renewed this summer.

The Hull-born fans’ favourite, who turned 50 last month, has become a regular face in City’s matchday hospitality team, as well as visiting schools and community projects to promote the club. He was also part of the club’s travelling contingent that visited Kenya in an end-of-season tour last May.

Windass confirmed that he had left the club on his Twitter page when writing “Anyone give me a job not working for hull city anymore.”

The tweet was later deleted but City have confirmed that Windass will no longer be with the club once his current contract expires at the end of this month.

Sad day for all City fans and Deano himself, I guess the lack of parachute payments is having its effect across the board. Though I would have thought they would have kept Deano on.

Promoting the club, in every sense, doesn't seem to be a priority for the Allams. I fear for Deano's well-being though, hope he gets fixed up with something quickly.

I'm afraid it's probably just another case of the Allams doing something they know Hull City fans won't like.

How did the latest vote thing go? Have the 'members' pissed them off?
