I disagree that this season's title race has been the best. For me, way out, miles out on its own was Leicester City's win. Next, would come Man City's win against QPR in the last minute to beat ManU to the title. This season's title race just qualifies as the best remembered.Next season's will usurp that.
Can we include one that was from before football was created by Sky? Liverpool 0 Arsenal 2 Surely the most dramatic end to a title race ever? All but one game played. The last game to be played (due to a postponement) is between the two teams fighting for the title. The away team need a 2-0 victory to win the title. A 1-0 win and they lose the title. Last minute, winning 1-0, Michael Thomas chasing a long punt down the middle.... You couldn’t write a book or make a film with that type of excitement reaching fever pitch.
Was that the game in the last minute and in Liverpool's hands where Steve McMahon was going round his team mates with a smile on his face and signalling with his finger, just 1 minute to go, then arsenal go and score. Is that the one, if so, just made my day
I just thought I’d mention that, as I predicted some months ago, 35 points, or 34 with our goal difference, would have been enough to avoid relegation. So although we didn’t know it at the time, we were actually safe after the Wolves game, with 5 matches to go.
