I hope so, really like the guy and he has had a bit of bad luck with sackings. Can see him going to a top championship club and bringing them up.
I think Celtic should try to get a manager at the highest level. The present caretaker is not top quality, nor is Hughton. Maybe Rafa as he seems to be stalling at Newcastle.
Well that was a memorable season in the premier league, maybe just not for us. However, we stayed up and have made a great managerial appointment and with a busy summer of restructuring We can be optimistic. And whilst we only strayed up by a few points, we were in the mix for the majority of games and had we not lost 29 points from winning positions we could have finished above utd in 6th. We March on
I haven’t played it for many years now, but I was a dab hand on championship manager and football manager in my day. I might send in my CV.... I think I’m at the right level. * awaits our little friend from the north
I don't know if waiting till now to sack Chris is honorable or more disrepectful? But, for the club, I think it's the right decision. And as a Saint, I'd have preferred him to start next season.
Jamie Carragher and Stevie Gerrard are writing a book about Liverpool’s years in the Premier League. No title yet.......
The dismissal of Hughton is not really a surprise. They were terrible during the second half of the season and I think would have gone done had there been a few more games to play. It seems harsh as he is genuinely what of football's good guys but, as was pointed out on the BBC, the current owner of Brighton invested a lot of money in the club and stadium and wasn't confident that Brighton would improve next season. I feel they have a similar job to Saints on their hands in the summer but I would not be at all surprised if they appointed a foreign coach too.
It felt like there was no going back after the 3 successive defeats to Bournemouth(5-0), us and Cardiff. No wins in 9 and three in 23 is Hughes/Pellegrino form and they were lucky that Cardiff were poor enough not to take advantage of some very winnable games in the run in.
If Cardiff had beaten the already relegated Fulham, they would have survived! At least we actually battled and beat Swansea into submission! Brighton are dreadful.
Best title race for years Best fight for top 4/6 for years Best league in the world. We have been part of that, well not the title race bit, but the 8pts taken off the top 6 helped us stay up. A month today the new fixtures released and in 89 days the drama starts over again. We will all anticipate, watch, debate and analyse and go marching in to the Greatest show around.
