Wasn't John Peel from there ish? Liverpool fan. Because he was from just down the road, like this ref.
sorry but everyone in the UK knows Mike centre of attention Dean so that out trumps some soppy septic "comedy" show from 30 years ago by a country mile.
I am a touch torn regarding the result. Personally I want Man City to win the league but I think my children support Liverpool. They're immature, know nothing about football, only pay any interest when their team is winning and have a belief their team have a divine right to celebrate success as it's somehow more special than other teams. Add in that it's not our proper local team and these are the reasons I think they must support Liverpool.
He was indeed from Heswall. Proper legend that guy and proof that the old semi-scouse accent was alright really (nothing like modern scouse which hurts my ears every day at work). Not who i had in mind though - think of possibly the most famous English cricketer.
I think you could be talking about professional pretend Yorkshireman and greatest living Englishman Ian Sir Botham?
Well done, didn't think anyone was getting that in a hurry. He was born in Heswall though mostly regarding as coming from Somerset(ish). Which is fair enough because he did really in the main.
