Is it just me that is still worried we will blow 4th by getting beat by Everton massively (5-1 Newcastle still haunts me) and the Goons winning big?
United you can make a case for, but we have by far the worst squad in the top 6. I'd even say you can make a case for Leicester or Wolves' squad being better than ours. It should come as no surprise that when the pressure was on us to win, we wasted the opportunity. Typical Arsenal really.
Any Spurs fan moaning about making it needs to remember Lasagne-gate, 4th place and The Filth winning the CL and West Brom's keeper throwing 3 in on the final day. I give not a flying ****. We're in the big cup next season. United and Arsenal are gutted. Everything else can be addressed after we win the CL. Yes, I've started drinking.
You are not alone. In the event that Spurs beat Ajax, then at least Pochettino can say the following to the team selected for the Everton game : You are now playing for a place on the team sheet for the CL final. Those who do not put in a shift and play with a calm head in this game to ensure a win, make alternative plans for that saturday.
That's the thing: it appears both Spurs and Arsenal are sacking off the league to win in Europe Neither of them seem to have thought that making sure CL qualification is secured before doing that is a good idea...
I don't know how the form of us, Chelsea, Arsenal and Utd bodes for next season as we are all finishing this season so badly. Utd have an untested manager, Sarri's brand of football isn't popular, Emery? I don't know and we have a settled coach whose teams have a habit of fading late on. Unless Pep leaves City I see the same top two competing next year.
Brunel, I'm going to repeat that often a team will play differently in different competitions. Remember relegated Portsmouth reaching the FA Cup Final? Look at us in the PL, total pony but here we are in the CL semi. It can happen still for you.
