The Academy can confirm its end-of-season retained list following the conclusion of the 2018/19 campaign.

Four of the current crop of second-year Scholars have signed their first professional contracts for next season: Harrison Foulkes, Jacob Greaves, Matty Jacob and Jay Rouse.

However, the following players will be allowed to leave the Academy when their Scholarships expire at the end of June: Ben Adamson, Jake Nicholls, Will Taylor and Dan Hawkins.

The Club has made new contract offers to five members of the Under-23 Development squad: Ahmed Salam, Billy Chadwick, Lewis Ritson, Charlie Andrew and Jordan Hickey.

The following players will see their time with the Club come to an end when their current contracts expire at the end of this season: Josh Thacker, Elliot Holmes, Tom Powell, Josh Hesson and Callum Smith.

Everyone at the Academy would like to thank all departing players for their efforts while at the club and wish them the best of luck moving forward.

The only one that seems to stand by your stance is you ... Arf !!!!

Big fees taken for Robertson .. Maguire .. Clucas etc were not re-invested .. they were not taken off the overall debt to their true value .. the wages paid for the last 2 seasons on the majority of the squad are no where near what the premier league payments where yet the debt remains extortionate to what they claim it is, in spite of the parachute payments .. we are one of the lowest in terms of FFP outgoings in comparison to income .. so you tell me Sherlock where the money has gone.

So you think the Allams have pocketed what 60 70 million then from those sales?? Interesting.
What are the wages? As you seem to know. How much is evandro on? Growshitski? Marshall? Please tell.
Maybe Bolton could have done with your help a few years ago eh.

I think he's working on the basis that these players came in during the Premier League era, so will be on high wages, coupled with the fact that we would have had to offer increased wages to fight off competition/attract them to Hull City.

I don't know the exact figures, but I can't imagine Grosicki would have come here for any less than £30,000, ditto Ryan Mason. They will of course have had relegation clauses in their contracts, but overall it would have cost a pretty penny and probably still is. Our wage budget won't be £70m, so that money has to be going somewhere and we haven't spent the rest on transfers.

Can your pupils spell things any way they like? I suppose it will be alright if they can't spell but embrace inclusivity and promise not to drink champagne near certain groups.

They're six, they spell everything the way they like. Please don't call my ability to do my job into question based on a typo in a phrase I must've used three times in my life, I'm a human, not a ****ing spellchecker.

Don't start. Please. The last thread was a swing and a miss for you, it was a **** up of Alex Jones style proportions. Have a bath and a mini-magnum.

First team scouts are being told to look at players who we can sign on a max 5k a week and transfer fees of no more then 700k and have been since just after Xmas. I was told this personally by a first team scout of the club (who didn't know I was a Hull fan or from the area) while at a game with a scout from another club.

The 10k a week max wage looks good now doesn't it

The only clubs in the Championship paying big wages will have parachute payments in payment or owners gambling on getting promotion to avoid FFP troubles, Middling teams like Blackburn, Preston, Wigan etc won't be paying blanket £10k p/week wages per player. More clubs will have to rein in the spending this coming season, I don't think we will be alone.

It's not impossible to find bargains that are ready to make the step up.

The likes of Szmodics, Maddison, Eaves and Jodi Jones are more than capable of playing in the Championship.

We don't need a whole new team. Long is a decent option in goal, with Burke and De Wijs we have a good centre half pairing (McKenzie is adequate but not convincing cover) and Lichaj offers a good, experienced head at the back. Brandon Fleming could step up if he has a decent pre season. Stewart and Batty are great midfield options if Henriksen does one, plus Irvine and Sheaf are also in there. The wide positions are an issue, because that's where we're going to be light if our two stars leave, but Toral and Milinkovic are contracted, we just need a solid #10, cover on both wings and a striker.

So, can we sign two wingers, a striker and a number 10 from the lower leagues and cover the rest with loans and frees? Yes. Yes we can. I've mentioned four of them above.

I don't think Milinkovic is really in Atkin's thinking or plans for next year. He seems to be a Darnborough signing and not an Atkin's man. I think Atkin's want to wrestle more control of signings away from Ehab's man.

He might not have a choice if we can't find a replacement. He's been in and out of the match day squad recently, wouldn't surprise me if he ended up back in. Stewart looked awful when he first signed but he's settled, might be alright if he gets a run of games. Milinkovic hasn't looked bad when he's played.

Milinkovic must have earned himself a place on the naughty step again? He hasn’t even made the bench recently. I don’t think he’s looked too bad on the very odd occasion that he’s made it on to the pitch.

You can get bargains. Norwich got Pukki on a free, their other forward who scored regularly cost £1.5 million, a bargain in current prices but about double what we will pay. Their goalie was a free. Two players of their who were in the PFA team of the year along with Pukki came through the ranks.
They had a number of loan players as well. They had to raise £30 million to prevent going into administration. They raised £30 million on the sale of Maddison and Rhodes and got Rhodes Black on loan. They only spent £5.4 million after those sales. But their wage bill was £20 million so we can't compete with what this season's surprise team did as that wage bill is beyond what their owners were willing to fund.
And, they have a good youth and scouting set up with owners who are fans and who have sensible ticketing arrangements, which Ehab will say is no good, which means it is 15 seasons ago when they averaged less than 24,000.
Can't see us competing even as well as we did this year. Think it will be season of struggle. Though I hope I am wrong. But I can't see Adkins, or anyone else, pulling the irons out of the fire like he did this year.
