If we lose both would it really make us think differently.

As i said nows the time to rate feelings on season. looking at 2nd and sf.

I said already... part i is in title for a reason so get a move on and just vote and stop whining you sensitive snowflakes :)

Part ii comes next week.

If we somehow overcome barca i will do part iii then, if not part iii will be after last game of season.

At the risk of being labelled snowflake some of us could tick all the boxes . If the 5th box was disappointing/disappointed. :bandit:

Its why its hard to say.

Overall we've been excellent, at this stage to have 91pts, only lost 1 league game and be in the SF of the CL. That's impressive.

However there is a tinge of disappointment. To have been so good and not to win anything (potentially and probably likely) is hugely frustrating. I mean finishing with 97pts (potentially) how many times has a team got that many points and not won (none?), to achieve what would be good enough to win any other season and not :emoticon-0121-angry

My expectations of the CL were pretty much where we are now or less, SF at best. So we've done well imo, however it would be disappointing to go out without at least making a go of the 2nd leg (we'll wait and see on that).

So very good, but a shame not win something (potentially)
This is must what Spurs fans feel like, to play well but not to win anything.

The really disappointing thing is Man City, if we can't beat them playing like we have this season, can't see them being bested in the coming years (without FFP actually being applied to them), cause they're only going to spend more and get better.

I wouldn't disagree with any of this. In particular I think City will get even stronger if that's possible and that's a frightening and rather disheartening prospect. I am not particularly given to negativity but I feel we have been playing at our peak and that its unlikely we will get better form or results next season. I know many here disagree and can only see us getting better and stronger.

It can go either way, we could improve or fall away a bit. However, the same could be said of City.

Predicting the future is a bit of a mug's game, tbh - we can't know what new factors will come along to influence things.

I can see us being better next season (clear out the deadwood, exciting youth etc etc) however I can see next season being another like this. Great football only to be 2nd place again.
And that's because I can see City going to another level again. I can see them solving all their problems, winning Quads and possibly even going unbeaten. Sure it may not last forever, but it'll last long enough to stop us until we're in another rebuild.

The best analogy I can think of is, We're Andy Murray in an era of Federer, Nadal and Djokovic. There's always someone better.

bar Murray won 2 Wimbledons

I know it doesn't fit that well, but the gist was that we could perennial runners up. That we'll suffer from 'Good in an era of greats'

The league and CL this season is very much, we're good but there is someone better.

**** happens mate.

didn't happen in 2001 or 2005.

frankly what happened in 2008 to 2010 did huge damage to.our club but that is is the past so.... No point thinking that we are going to do what happened in 2009 or 2014.. we've built.a really strong proposition.

Missing the point, I said I think we'll be better next year, but that still doesn't mean we'll win things. The fact we've played as well as we have this year and yet are still to end up 2nd and losing SF (potentially), can you imagine if we had played this well in any past season of the PL, we'd have won the title.
Next year the other top 6 will spend money (maybe not Spurs) and improve, whilst they probably wont be ready next season it'll make it a more difficult season. The big problem is City, who are only going to get better for the foreseeable future.

So.... we've played excellent this year and finishing 2nd is good, in isolation this is great from where we've come from in the last decade or so. However in coming seasons this could become a regular thing until we're no longer in a position to challenge.

As I said Great season, but with a little disappointment that we've been beaten on the line.

so yeah... I'd love is to be that successful.
thats prob 2 leagues, 2 league cups and an fa cup
Too literal and frankly you're being obtuse.

Like I said it wasn't a great analogy. The point was 'There's always likely to be someone better' and winning is likely to depend on them completely ****ing up rather than being excellent, ie a Leicester season.
