I would point out again that the 3rd best pointless total ever is still on. better than the record set by cheslea money in 2005. thats excellent.
True and I've already said so However if it wins us nothing... Nobody is really going to remember that in the long run, just that Man City won the title (probably). The future is the bigger worry, even if we get better next season there is still City to contend with who are also going to get better.
yes but... how could we possible do more. so in the end if we can't be proud of what we've done there then how can we take anything forward.
It's been a good season but I'm disappointed we didn't win anything. Not sure we could have done better in league, City too good... The cup competitions we could have maybe done better in. So for myself, I'm happy with the performance and the teams, not happy with the outcome, but I have no doubts the team did the best they could. No scape goats.
Too much of fan of that BBC1 programme I see Of course we'll feel pride at having a fantastic season. But the predominant feeling will be of a massive disappointment. However much we hail this team for its ability and being one of the best premiership teams it will be runners up if City win the title. I also have a feeling that the club including Klopp will look at diversifying the hunt for trophies next season rather than put all our eggs in one (or two) baskets. It will be nice to win a domestic cup which is well within our capability. Ultimately runners up are runners up and champions are champions. It is an itch that needs to be scratched and proper recognition only come with trophies and titles. However much we thought Murray was a hero and one of our best tennis players of all time, it was only when he won Wimbledon and a few grand slams that he achieved that "great Brit" status.
City walked it last year - this year we've taken them to the wire, whatever happens now. We can at least be proud of that (well Klopp and the players can, we didn't actually do anything). My concern is that if no-one gets near them next season then the league will become a joke. However, we can't be sure that everything will run smoothly for them next time around, after all they've gone downhill this time by at least 2 points.
Like was said earlier on this thread it is a shame that this talented team played in a season (or seasons) with a great team like City. I don't think anyone would begrudge them that term if they win the title plus FA Cup (very likely) and League Cup. Of course I'd love it if they slip up in the last 2 matches but if they don't then I think they fully deserve it as they were the better team. They won their matches more convincingly. Until the team wins the title it will always be viewed to be in the shadow of the champions. However many points we collect.
so... every **** who voted all said good season. 2.****s who shall remain nameless said we should have won something. fair enough.
That's for the poll thread on Tuesday We've already established most all are quite happy already, a little bit of perspective there. now if Leicester take a point I'll ask another poll and see if delirium has set in. maybe I'll even have to do another poll on Thursday
I didn't see that option. There was an option that merely stated we didn't win anything despite a decent season. Didn't see one that said we should have won one.
It’s been a great season. It would have been a perfect season if we pick up a trophy. But I won’t be downbeat if we miss out because what we’ve done is incredible. Even moreso when you consider where we were only 3-4 years ago. Taking one of the best PL teams in history to the wire. And bear in mind that the same team are being investigated by all major footballing bodies for cheating.
