We can't stop him from playing as it was a transfer not a loan. I'm not sure whether he is fit or not. I really hope so.
You can stop player from playing against you as part of a transfer but as confirmed by adam pearson to burnsy we did not stipulate that as part of the contract so Ash will play if picked and fit. As a seperate thing does anyone know if he has been given the armband at PNE ? UTT chantstiger
That's not true at all you can not stop them playing under the rules, a gentleman's agreement perhaps but you can't enforce it.
I don't really care about Ash playing on Saturday, at least it will give us a chance to say goodbye properly and he's hardly setting the world on fine on the wrong side of the Pennines. 2-0 loss in his first game, a 4-0 loss in his second game, a player rating of 5/10 today and they're already complaining that he can't complete a pass. He'll be up for it next week, I'm sure, but we just won by four, they just lost by four and they'll be dreading coming to the KC.
Poor Ian, but there will be no love lost on Saturday, I think he will go hell for leather but a few of the younger players will fancy making a bit of a point. Changing of the guard and all that.
Saturday will be a day of mixed emotions as Brown and Ash will always be regarded as legends in my eyes. We've all moved on and they should receive a fantastic reception but 3 points are up for grabs and Ash will be fired up for this one.....I've heard the half time draw will be cancelled if we're 4-0 up by half time!
