Someone please tell me, but is there more mobility and speed with Redmond, Sims and sometimes Long? We are taking a leaf out of Liverpool's attack as none of their threesome is what you would call a traditional centre-forward in the mould of Lukaku, Lambert or Austin.

I really do like Nuno.....

Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo: "Our defensive structure was not the best - it is something that we have to look at.

"After we conceded the opener we controlled the game well and made chances until we drew level. We then went behind and were not able to stand up again and the second half was poor.

"We left too many spaces and we allowed them to play. Today they were better than us and we have to regroup and bounce back immediately. Our trip to Spain was planned before and we feel it is a good moment to have an opportunity to train and be together."

Exactly. Ings was very good today. And really, he has been doing this for us all season, so not sure what people were seeing.

He has been quite adept and finding the gap between midfield and defense. He’s also pretty good at subtly overloading a side to further confuse things between CB’s and fullbacks.

When he does this, it pulls out a CB and gives Redmond his chance to make one of those inside forward-ish diagonal runs. His interplay with Redmond has been great and a big part of Redmond’s resurgence. Although Redmond deserves credit to for learning how to time his runs and becoming a much better finisher, as he showed today.

You can see Sims is not quite as adept at the timing and as a result sometimes gets steered outside. Although not criticizing him at all as he hasn’t had the same time in the side, plus he is young, plus he put in a few nice passes today so he was still effective.

Nice thing about Ings is, he still has his scorer’s instinct. Basically he has been doing all the things Long supposedly does except Ings can actually score. Although Long scored today, so can’t say anything bad about him either.

We just played really well today. I was really impressed. People are saying the defense was shaky but I thought they did quite well. Wolves were pretty good with the ball today and the CB’s were given a tough task because Bertrand and Valery were pushing upfield and JWP is not our best tackler in midfield. Wolves were smart and were able to get in behind the midfield and then tried to spread out the CB’s. At times the best the CB’s could do is try and stay compact, hold the center and wait until the rest of the team could get back. Which I thought they managed.

Once they got some help in the form Romeu they were fine. No shame in needing an extra DM to help you out against a good attacking side. But they held things down long enough for us to grab a lead where we could then afford to take a more defensive posture.

Spot on! I also didn’t really think Danny had a great game yesterday but Ralph gave him a role which he adapted to. He’s probably still a bit rusty but produced 2 fabulous defence splitting passes, 1 made a goal & the other should of. Not a bad contribution.

Danny Murphy said on MOTD how well Ings played and analysed his performance highlighting his contribution.

Ian Wright more so. Ings has a great game. He’s a quality player.
Yeah, quite clear that Ings is a brilliant players and streaks ahead of long. Very intelligent footballer and not only has the ability to pick out great passes, but is one of our only players able of even seeing them.

Also think he will improve if he stays fit for a regular run of games.

As will his scoring stats because Strikers generally get sharper with more game time.

Danny should always start ahead of Shane, but I still maintain that Shane offers a great option from the bench and is useful as an out ball at places like Anfield and the Etihad.

Long, like everyone, has improved under Ralph. But for 60k a week he is one of our best paid players and shows why we have a high wage bill but no particularly star players. We are currently paying 32 year old subs and loan players what we should be paying good first team regulars.

He'll go in the summer, these goals are just a cunning plan to make someone buy him. That's why we're all pretending the Leicester one wasn't obviously a Schmeichel OG.

I really hope he does. But as with Forster, Clasie, Carrillo and Hoedt, they wont take a pay cut but nobody will match their wages.

We will struggle to off load them again

Oh come on SA, when had Shane ever been a threat at somewhere like Anfield?
