Is this a Shane Long renaissance!

Way he’s going he’ll have scored more this season than the last 2, if he hasn’t already! Whatever the reason, keep it up Shane

What a win for us. It would be great for us to stay up with these players, and fingers crossed we should now do. We play good honest football with honest players in my view. It's just a shame Hassenhuttl didn't have these players all year, I'd be interested to know where we've been in the table since he came. Good to move on from Hughes that's for sure. I hope we can continue the upward trend, but obviously need to be realistic about the quality of the players. They are all good honest PL level players though imo and potential to finish 8th if they had a real storming season next year with worst case scenario being happy with survival. Great to see how Redmond has come on under Hassenhuttl (although still for Redmond he doesn't get anywhere near enough end product, today is a change for that. Performance wise he's been very good however) and also Ward-Prowse. Also Valery (and the whole team/squad). Good to see Long on the scoresheet again too, he always tries his best. Another goal for Burnley now. I think we are safe now when Cardiff have Liverpool and Man United to play but I won't count my chickens quite yet. Be good to finish the season strongly now, looking at the last 5 fixtures the hardest is going to be Newcastle away (which will be a very tough game imo). So it will be good to get 8 points minimum from the last five to finish really strong.

This is worrying. Defenders do your day job. Save the flash moments for training.

Oh I'm not hailing it as a positive aspect of our game, it just makes me laugh - and we won, so it doesn't even have to be wry for once! Couldn't stay sane as a Saints fan if you can't chuckle at the odd bout of haplessness. Well, slightly sane.
