Yeah, I always kind of defended Krueger because people were always blaming him for the club sucking when they don't even know what he does. By the same token thought, that means I'm not really sure that losing Krueger is a big deal since we don't know what he does.
I think that he probably served mainly in an administrative role and advisory capacity to KL behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly. Kind of organized the power structure and communication between sections. Which means that if Gao is going to switch up things up how things work at the club (which might be a good idea), Krueger is no longer needed. To the extent that Krueger was supposed to sell the club, I haven't seen that much change. No one in the US knows or cares about Southampton still, despite that UA agreement. Gao will likely see the big opportunity is to market to China and he would have the better contacts and knowledge.
It basically seems like the club has decided to go in a whole new direction, most likely because Gao has decided to be more active. What that direction is and whether Gao can pull it off is still a question. But on the whole, we had to do something so I'm looking at all of this with cautious optimism.
