Talks confirmed as Liverpool eye a deal on par with the likes of Manchester United. By @JamesPearceEcho BREAKING: Liverpool are in advanced talks with Nike over a new long-term kit deal which is expected to exceed the value of Manchester United's £750 million agreement with Adidas. [ESPN]
The only plus side is I might occasionally find Liverpool themed stuff over here where I am. I occasionally see Adidas team crap, and Nike team crap, but never see NB football team stuff over here. So, I for one, will be happy to be separated from NB. Also, Adidas kits all look the same, they're Adidas kits not the team kits.
Beast' A Liverpool defensive target has been described by his manager as "an absolute beast". Liverpool have been 'blown away' by Bristol City left-back Lloyd Kelly after watching him this season, according to one report. Jurgen Klopp's first-choice left-back Andy Robertson has been one of Liverpool's best performers his season, but the Reds need back-up in the position with Alberto Moreno having failed to convince too often. And Liverpool are weighing up a summer bid for 20-year-old Kelly, according to Football Insider . The report says a club source says scouts have been hugely impressed by Kelly, who has been a mainstay of Bristol City's Championship campaign.
I don't think I've ever owned anything made by Nike, so couldn't comment on the quality. The plus side to me, is Nike brings more availability to places where New Balance isn't even an option. I know the atheltics stores near me sell European football club team stuff that are made by Nike and Adidas, but not anyone else. Not just kits, but supporter tees etc. I don't know if the profits from them go to club or sponsor... But it brings more options to get stuff for the fans. At least, it's better for fans like me overseas in smaller markets where, I see United **** and Chelsea crap and other smaller clubs paraphanalia, but not Liverpool because Liverpool has been sponsored by a mid-sized sportsware company for a long time. Adidas and maybe Reebok are probably the only two other companies with strong presence in markets around the world. Companies like Puma and New Balance don't have the same market penetration worldwide.
It's probably a subconscious thing and linking it to Man Utd. Personally, I don't like their products I've tried, especially their footy boots!
I’m happy because I wear a lot of Nike! Either way, as long as we get paid a **** load, I’ll be content.
