Ian Hutchinson @Hutchy_HCAFC Image rights were global but didn’t include the UK. Duffen says he simply “signed off” on the deal, claims it was negotiated by Club secretary (Phil Hough) with advice from a law firm. No steps were taken to exploit Geovanni’s overseas image rights. #hcafc Ian Hutchinson @Hutchy_HCAFC HMRC claimed the image right deal was to avoid tax, Geovanni did not have an image rights agreement with Manchester City and did not have a significant commercial value to justify the sums payable #hcafc Ian Hutchinson @Hutchy_HCAFC Judge dismissed Duffen’s appeal “I am not making a finding that the Image Rights Agreement was a sham. They did grant rights to the Club to exploit Geovanni’s overseas image rights. I do not accept that those rights had any commercial value.” #hcafc Ian Hutchinson @Hutchy_HCAFC Other snippets: Duffen claims Phil Brown negotiated player’s salaries. Geovanni also got £500 per game, an accommodation expense of £4,000 per month and a £100,000 bonus for staying up. 31 pages of judgement, some of it interesting and quoted above http://www.devereuxchambers.co.uk/a...ity_AFC_(Tigers)_Ltd__Decision_22.03.2019.pdf Could cost the club?
That is interesting considering we all believed Geo was on £35k a week. Shows how far away what we think is from reality.
Or.... Got us into the top flight in his first season as a football club chairman after 104 years of all other City chairmen trying and failing.
But surely the various add ons (if achieved) etc evidenced above won’t have been far off? £26k per week basic £1k per week for accommodation £500 per game £450k in image rights (can’t remember contract length but say 3 years is another £3k per week) £2k a week staying up bonus Roughly £32k a week to him and if you included the agents fees then the cost to us would have been around £35k a week ...I think
Peanuts when compared to Sanchez's In Football Leaks material published by Der Spiegel in May 2018, it was claimed Sanchez, whose contract runs to 2022, earns £391,000-a-week, with an additional £75,000 for every game he starts. It was said the 30-year-old also gets a £1.1m annual fee, along with additional bonuses, the triggers for which are yet to be met.
Fantastic value and great entertainer and footballer. Him and JJ the two stand outs we've had in recent times along with Nick
Yeah you're right. It was just a spooky coincidence that his very first season here coincided with our first ever promotion to the top flight after 104 years.
Listen love. It was a lot more to do with Windass, Ashbee, Barmby, Phil Brown and all the other playing staff. The fans that made that noise. It was because we were all very very together. Duffen just saw an opportunity to make money. He even ****ed that bit up. Greed...
You ok there hon? Still hating on the big bad Duffman? Let him go . He's not worth it. Thanks Duffo foe enabling to sign Folan (not a great buy but raised the bar for the club) to replace McPhee. Then Brown was allowed to get Campbell on loan (much more important than Folan in the scheme of things) and Okocha and Pedersen not to mention Clement. Money doesn't guarantee success. But ask Adam Pearson what a difference it can make to squad strength.
Was a bit sad this week to see that pub down Anlaby Road took down it's picture of Geo on the outside, not sure which one it is but it's closed near Albert Avenue. Not many reminders of him around but he must have scored the most memorable goals in a City shirt I've seen other than Deanos
