With the redundancy notices they've issued, it'll be potter and the youth team. How the mighty have fallen.
Maybe I'm being a bit dumb but ho , specifically, are in trouble. I can see Bolton and possibly Birmingham. But who else...unless you are thinking of a couple of clubs who have invested in promotion and will not succeed and get caught by fair play? Nottingham Forest? Stoke? Villa?
With Colin saying he'll put the U23s out and trying to keep the score down to 10 or 11. Never seen him so down beat in an interview.
Arter is now on 9 yellows- surely NW will bench him as we need him v Burnley. Anyone know when the amnesty starts?
Man City is the 32nd fixture so if he plays and is yellow carded he’d miss Burnley & BHA as it stands.
Correct. Not worth the risk in losing him for both of those games. If Warnock's going to stick to a full side rather than the under 23's he threatened, then Ralls or Bacuna has to start in his place.
Or be brave and surprise them. Alien to Warnock but attack could be the best form of defence. 4 2 4 with Ken alongside Niasse. He showed yesterday the chaos he can cause if the ball is played into the channel in front of him.
Either way we’re lambs to the slaughter. Defend in numbers and they’ll pass for fun around us in the box or go gung ho, we’ll be subject to lightning breakaways. Damage limitation.
Damage limitation is a waste of time. Our current goal difference is enough to send us down and worth a point to Burnley or anyone else for that matter. If we get beat, we get beat. Play the best side available (minus Arter) and take it to them. I'm sick and tired of cowing down to practically everyone we play up here in the Prem. The recent Everton game was a bloody farce as far as tactics were concerned - we should have taken the points that day but just gave them away. Burnley at home earlier in the season was another example of being scared of our own shadows. Manchester City are a class apart and we expect nothing from the game - so what? Play our game that suits us up there even if we get stuffed and take it forward to the next one at Burnley. Burnley are no great shakes and can be beaten as long as we don't go there with the same bloody inferiority complex that has tainted our season playing against broadly sides that avery little better than us. Others may have looked better on paper but not many can match our team spirit even if we haven't quite got the talent they possess. FFS, let's give this a go and not sink with a whimper.
Id make a few changes. Ralls for Arter. Due to the booking risk. Ken for Niasse. Ken needs 90 and should replace Niasse with a view to starting v Burnley. Niasse should have been subbed early 2nd half yesterday. Id also pick Reid for Camarasa. NML for Murphy.
Comforting, and somewhat surprising to see, that with all the on and off the field trauma's you are currently experiencing, your obsession with your " mighty " neighbours still occupies your mind.
