The pitch my eldest plays on could be half the size and they would still have plenty of room. After an hour they trudge off absolutely shattered, but most of them have only touched the ball a handful of times, but they've run up and down an awful lot.
It's a general problem with youth football though, winning at all cost by far to young. Every coach says the same "I just want them to be happy playing" but the majority then go for the biggest lads and play kick and rush.
There is a youth side by us that wins alot, wins the league every year come what may. I tell you know, they look ****ing miserable, they can be 10 nil up and are still terrified of loosing the ball for the moaning from the coach and parents.
Here parents are asked to leave if they are shouting, mocking, use bad language. A game was stopped last week for U12’s because of players swearing in opposition side!
