If we went up, playoffs or otherwise there’s no debate mate.

I’m absolutely happy with him, can’t think of anyone I’d rather have right now, but the seasons a failure if we don’t go up.

I have to disagree, I think there’s been several games where we haven’t pushed until late on and we’ve had teams on the ropes that ultimately we could have hunted down, I don’t think we can blame injuries given the squad and budget.

It’s absoutely fair what you say mind, Barnsley and Luton have almost covered the great things he’s done, I don’t think anyone seen Luton coming, Barnsley fair enough they were always the main threat for me.

If we go up, we’ve had a fantastic season. If we don’t, we’ve failed. The margins are that close for us right now, and as such so is my final judgement on Jack.

What are the odds the "no" vote is Monty?! I reckon he's still baffled we haven't got Ancelotti in yet

We've been unlucky in that both Barnsley and Luton are both in club record breaking runs of results that have kept us out of the top two.
Any other season and we'd be almost home and hosed as a certain top two finisher.
What I like about Ross is what he says in his interviews, he's never OTT and never doom and gloom.
He's a football man through and through and as has been said his players go right to the end of each game with a never known were beaten mentality, that's got to come from the manager and his staff.
As for promotion if we're all dead honest with the state of the club last May did anyone really expect us to walk this league, I know I didn't and whilst I'd be disappointed if we miss out come May it really isn't the end of the world.
I'm not sure financially how failure would hurt us but if we go again in this division then we're unlikely to have two teams in the form of their entire history ahead of us.
    keep Ross for me 100%.

Has my full backing. Easy to sit back and criticize every decision and always hindsight is a wonderful thing. Came into a huge mess and we were in total disarray. Questioning him on being negative to me is ridiculous. There was no need at Barnsley to throw caution to the wind and go for a winner. It was a good point against a team clearly inform and we are playing away from home. Just need to keep our nerve and we will get in the top two. Worst scenario we are in the play offs. That alone I would have taken last Summer because then we were in total free fall. Had visions of just trying to stay up this season. So to me....well done Jack. Finish the job this season that your hard work and dedication deserves. Understand Jack that there will always be the 'nay sayers' in whatever you do......getting us to the right end of the table and a trip to Wembley is not too shabby from where we came from. People will throw at you that the team and players are too good for this league....well we heard that when we were in the Championship.....ha'way the lads!!....and Jack!!!

I am in no doubt that even if we don't go up (there will be tears and everything) that we keep Jack Ross as I firmly believe we are onto the start of something good.

I think his mantra for this season was to make the playoffs. After the turmoil we've been through it was the only realistic target we had. He's done a good job in my eyes. Yes the draws are frustrating but I put that more down to individual errors from players rather than anything tactical.

If we manage to get into the top 2 and stay there he will be 9/10 out of 10 in my eyes. At the moment he's a solid 7.5.

The fact we have only lost twice and are still not in the top 2 shows that Luton and Barnsley have been brilliant. Imagine we don't lose again and finish 3rd. We must be the only team in history in this league to do that.

I voted yes, 2 defeats in 36 is astonishing, 43 goals on the trot amazing had it not been for the sending offs and injuries we would be top.

My only concern about not going up is that next season even more clubs will take the Wycombe way of playing against us.

This is a genuine concern and the main reason why we need to get out of this league, it is very physical and teams are more organised than I expected, we are paradoxically a much stronger side than the one which started so well, which raised expectations and suggested a cake walk. Its been far from that, but we are getting to grips, and all things being equal, with a dash of good fortune we will overtake Barnsley. If it has to be the play offs so be it. OaU

and Monty looked up to the light in the sky and said oh Lord my god i have seen the light , i put behind me all my negativity, and will follow the words of the righteous, and stop degrading my wonderful club, blessed be the Lord, and the roker faithful lifted the arena with their voices, with the joy of his conversion from the dark side. amen

Today against Walsall, I would rather have seen any of the four offensive players named to the bench in for Honeyman, instead of Power.

This has been a great thread - lots of consideration and knowledge on display. I came to the right place to learn about "Football".

Agree about Power, perhaps O9 there , Hume left back and Matthews right back. We have 3 players playing out of position, strange choice.

Think O9 “out of position” is a bit subjective. He’s played all of his best games for us at right back. Just an opinion but I think Hume will be first choice lb when fully fit. Think Ross is bringing him back gradually to avoid a recurrence of his injury, which is why he’s been on the bench.

That said, Power hasn’t looked up to it in the few games behind Grigg. Did ok against Bristol in the cup but not last 2. Few decisions to be made in the coming weeks but it’s certainly going to be a squad game in April! 8 of our 9 remaining games in one month!!

And apologies for last weeks outburst MBC, call me and my opinions what you like, no offence taken, I shouldn't respond like that.

The thing about Power imo is that those red cards earlier in the season have had a long lasting effect on his style of play and there seems a reluctance to get stuck in whereas before the cards I thought he had settled well and his performances warranted a place in the team.
now he is a professional footballer and he should have enough about him to shrug these things off but I think he's found it harder to relax into his normal game, I think he's had one yellow card since his last red which if I'm right might point towards him not taking that risk and putting himself at the mercy of the poor standard of Refereeing in this league.
Is he worth persevering with during this final few weeks is a decision Jack will have to make once George Honeyman is available again.
we'll have to wait and see.

I get what you're saying, nows not the time to radically change things. O9 can have a run up there pre-season, also, I think Matthews may be out of contract this summer, Oveido will be moved on, if O9 doesn't come good in midfield we have a ready made right back.
JR will have room to manoeuvre with those two high earners off the books. Nicer problems than normal tho.
