Wow, used to be in the most part an excellent thread to keep up with. Seems as though what’s happening on this thread is a mirror image of the country. People getting seriously unhinged over something they cant influence. If you all bother you’ll see that: Tories are ****s Labour are ****s DUP are ****s EU senior leaders are ****s Big business are the biggest ****s Is going to go complete tots up either way? - No Is going to be paradise? - No It was a clusterfuck whomever was in charge or in opposition. Just so happens they’re possibly ALL the worst ever. Now go put your doors back on the hinges. We’ve already lost Bob, no need for more. Where’s AWJM when we need him to unite us against some mad idea of his??
It's the 'ruling elite' that's to blame. You know, our elected representatives. The people we vote for. They're killing democracy. .
Glad you had the patience to read it. Now care to answer the earlier questions in that final paragraph? Passing the buck to the Remainers and to the EU does not answer the questions now why you are all ready to support May's deal. Was all that guff about there being nothing to worry about because we would simply go onto WTO terms which would be a better option? If not, why the panic by the Brexiteer MPs? Let me answer the question. Lack of balls as previously evidenced by their collective wish that David Cameron and then Theresa May should always remain on the bridge saluting Her Majesty as the independent HMS UK sank.. They've done what they could to set someone up to take the flak and are now running for cover because they've realised what May realised three months ago. I'll split it down into two simple points: 1 Brexit without a deal will be a disaster for this country. That's what matters to her not the possibility that the EU member states may suffer some short-term economic damage. 2 They've got us over a barrel because they knew what they were doing and could rely on the agreements and treaties willingly signed up to by successive UK governments, Tory and Labour over the last 40 years. Your leaders were conned by their own bullshit based on patriotism and nationalism rather than some solid economic analysis into believing that that the EU would collapse without the UK's invaluable financial contributions and embarrassing history of always choosing to say No to veto any proposal at all that they did not like. It hasn't and won't. Tusk had it right when he expressed his frustration and wish for a special place reserved in hell for those who start such a process without having a clear plan how to achieve it.
If you say so. Like we would have won the title in 1976 if Liverpool hadn't scored 3 times in the last 15 minutes. The fact is they did. Let's deal with the facts shall we. They agreed some additional explanatory wording. Brexiteers rejected it. They then told the UK not to bother to come back unless we had a realistic proposal. We are throwing the towel in. Given that WTO is the magic money tree before we can reconquer the rest of the world why the sudden panic in the Brexit camp?
Nor me. But let me suggest this. The DUP didn't like it and therefore the Tories latched on to this because they want to remain in power with DUP support for the duration of this Parliamentary term in the vain hope that enough time will elapse and Corbyn will make enough errors of judgment for them to win the next GE in 2 years time
From the tone of your reply, I am assuming you weren't replying to Goldie but rather the oaf I have been ignoring for the last six months or so
Aided by his sidekick who has broken his recent vow of silence to stir things up a bit more with a few personal digs at you. Now that he is getting it back he has gone off again
Seems it was being in Europe that affected him most the man says he began planning an attack after visiting Europe in 2017 and being angered by events there. That seems more significant than the fact he supported trump
I read he was a Brexiteer too, though his manifesto now, wisely, seems to have been taken down from any place I want to go.
I had someone at work today want me to find the video for him He wanted to see if someone being killed looked the same as it did on tv He was told to **** off obviously
By voting for who? Can UKIP and The Brexit Party find enough people to put up a candidate in leafy Berks?
Apparently the 350 of them who have signed up reckon it will take them 2 weeks to do the 270 miles to London. No chance, every inch of the route will be lined with burger vans and beer tents, and presumably defibrillators. If we get a two year extension to Article 50 half a dozen might get there before it’s up. Farage has no plans to walk the whole thing (he’s probably aiming for the first pub they get to), and I’m worried that without a strong leader they might end up in Llandudno.
John Redwood didn't betray the people so he will be okay. You have that horrid Lee, so you will have to decide whether you want to vote for a lying Tory. However, If it came to it I would vote for a Brexit Party. It's not here they will win the seats it will be all the Labour leave constituencies who's MP's voted remain.
QPR fan I’m told. Still a Tory ****. No one has betrayed the people. You could make a case for the ERG who claim to be eurosceptic and vote against a Brexit deal.
okay lets say, for the sake of having all the usual suspects joining in... that they betrayed their manifesto. Which they have by saying they don't want Brexit. As I mentioned the other day. MP's that support leave in leave constituencies will be fine. People like Caroline Flint or Lisa Nandy Redwood will be fine. It's the people like Grieve and the 140 odd Labour seats that will need to worry. I think the figure for Labour is something like 74 very close and 72 marginal for leave constituencies... many will probably end up losing their seats. I reckon some will move to TIG. It will be a bigger headache for Labour as the Tories are ruthless and will deselect. The members will sort that out. Funnily Grieve was on TV the other day saying he hopes to get back in if there was a GE... the blokes deluded as Tories from Beaconsfield want him gone. The fact that he says rubbish like that shows just out of touch he is. Labour on the other hand have a different system. It will also be interesting how Labour get rid of people like Chukka who is popular in a Labour stronghold. I am sure Jezza will no doubt find a way. Don't be surprised if some dirt gets thrown up because there were rumours about the smooth talking Chukka not that long ago. When he had a break after the referendum. On TIG... they will be another SDP and the Tories only joined because they know their days are numbered.
They’re allowed to have an opinion, particularly if it is in their constituents’ best interests. Any MP pretending a hard Brexit (or any Brexit) is a good thing for those they represent is doing so for career prospects. Any MP with some principles will oppose it. If the electorate are such snowflakes they vote someone out because of that then good for them, that’s democracy.
So basically am I right in that you are saying if an MP wants Brexit, he is doing it for career and against Brexit, the MP has principles? I think the majority of people know that the House is 80% remain and they are trying to stop Brexit. We can debate all day on this and neither will agree. I don't care if people are Labour/Tory/Limp Dems/leave/remain...the people voted and the result should be respected, it's as simple as that.
