Two days ago Holyrood debated a rise in carers allowance. The motion was to raise the current payments by 2.4% and align future payments with consumer price index. The immediate increase would give much needed relief to some of the poorest in our society.

20 MSP's voted against the bill. All of them from the sooper dooper born again socialist Labour party.
