Gomes prone to injury or injury prone to Gomez.

That's the conundrum, if he can stay injury free he looks class so we need backup for him. This Dutch lad isn't coming to play as back to anyone.

Never sign backup, sign players to improve the first team and the squad takes care of itself.

If we were to sign him, it would be a three way battle for two spots.

Can we not use gomez as cover for fb positions as well.

Being injury prone be ideal to have him cover. Would he kick up a fuss?

I think playing full back will increase the risk of injury, he's a big lad and going up and down that wing doesn't suit him.

    Bar we did once already?

For the record I don't put any faith in players talking especially ajax players who are always mouthing off about their next move

Yeah great if that works and there are plenty of games for them all. I suppose we need the right mentality from players and the understanding that they won't play every game.

Would be nice to be good enough to rotate at the back and up front. We rely heavily on the first team in these areas.

I seem to recall being gold on this very forum we would never get someone to compete with our front 3 cos they'd not be willing to sit on bench.

I dunno but if thry ain't good enough to take a place I don't want them.

We did it once yes, because our defence was an shambles. It's not now.

Plus, Gomez is about as good as Clyne at RB.

Not a fan of using Gomez as a full back. Our full backs are crucial to our attacking play. Gomez doesn’t offer that.

A player who would have been ideal was Porto’s Eder Militao who can play full back and centre backZ

Unfortunately, he’s just signed for Real Madrid.

He puts the effort in but the end product isn't great.
