So now Ken Clarke is saying that if the EU doesn't want an extension, then although the default is to leave on 29th May Micheal Gove said yesterday that they would revoke Article 50. So what was the point of putting it in Law? He added that he would prefer a long extension and so would the House... yeah I bet they do.
Yeah for once I cant blame the EU. May should call a GE so we can vote these twats out and people can vote for a Brexit party (if they want). I can see why none of the want a GE as it would break both main party's
Saying that they are talking about the papers and in one newspaper they are calling May, Frank Spencer and the reviews didn't know who he was and had to look it up. I'm not that old am I?
the ones who went Independent didn't have the minerals to put up their seats for re-election, General Election is the last thing they want. We are dealing with Euro fanatics here
They can't hide forever...although after last night they have turned us into a banana republic and could change the law so there are no more elections and they just stay there.
I wouldn't say it is part of the problem because the majority CEO's or employers of the the young are older people. Older people have more experience in life. agree though, it's the young who are the future but that doesn't mean if you are over 30 you don't get a say.
Britain’s Remainer elites have declared war on democracy itself https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politic...-remainer-elites-have-declared-war-democracy/
I really cannot believe the bull that is being put up in Parliament now. May wants to bring back her unchanged brexit bill for a third time But we cannot have a second referendum as it is undemocratic (double standards here May) May announces last nights vote was unwhipped and then there is a storm because the Tory party whips invoke a 3 line whip on their own party to vote against their own bill. No ministers or anyone is sacked for going against the whip (Only one principled junior minister saw fit to resign!) The DUP will possibly back her 3rd rendition of the bill, because if not all their power is gone. My childrens futures is completely controlled by this bunch of opinionated loud mouthed neo-facists, that we in mainland UK have no power over. There are threats of direct rule by Westminster over NI (although not quite sure what rule they have currently through the devolved Stormont government) Other Tories agree they will back the bill, if May agrees to go, and the Tory party can elect a new leader to take her place and "unite" the country. But we the people cannot have a new election to decide who we want to govern us The labour party cannot get its act together to fully oppose this despotic madwoman, because they are divided as the Tories, and being lead by a hard-core Brexiteer who is just about pretending to toe his own party line. They are not a coherent opposition in any shape or form, under under these amazing cirumstances where anyone with a single brain cell can see the mess the government is in...they STILL lag behind in the polls ...how is that even possible There is no clear decision/idea on what we want...did our MPs not think of this before 1. We called for a referendum 2. Before the MPs agreed to the engage Article 50 No I don't have any awnsers, but I am not paid £80,000 a year to have them. Just the whole thing stinks. I hope I live long enough to see the other end of this tunnel, but expect I wont END OF RANT
I don't know whether to say I agree/disagree but I have liked your post because most is spot on. I am sure you will see the end of the tunnel because business won't allow uncertainty going on too long. Re the whips and the 4 that went against her... it was a free vote until amendments were changed then May ran around frantically whipping the vote... Funny thing was she voted against her own amendment. Beth as I have said this goes beyond Brexit. This is the 'seismic shift' in politics that Farage said would happen. These are not good political times and these MP's will have to answer to us the voters.
One soldier to be prosecuted over Bloody Sunday. ‘Insufficient evidence’ to prosecute 16 others and 2 IRA men. I’m deeply ambivalent about this. I can understand why people want justice, just like the ongoing stuff about the Birmingham pub bombings and Hillsborough, and it’s really not my place to debate or deny them this. But it does all seem a very long time ago. I wish it would all just go away. But I’m confused as to why a squaddie is being prosecuted. The Colonel in charge was interviewed on telly last night and he had clearly (and unashamedly) ordered and endorsed the actions taken on that horrible day. If the shootings were illegal (and I’m no expert on this) surely the full chain of command should be in the dock?
Whilst I sympathise with the families involved, as I sympathise with the families of victims of ALL sides in that bloody conflict.....there comes a time when you have to draw a line under the whole war (‘cos that’s what it was). Very easy for me to say of course. I was listening to a republican author on Sky this morning who was saying the self same thing. For the sake of future generations we all have to move on. Didn’t the same thing happen in SA with the ‘truth and reconciliation committee’ ?
Remainer Bercow has reject the amendment that I mentioned earlier. 130 MPs put their names down on it and he rejected it.. He is now getting stick... disgusting stitch up.
