Norwich v Swansea was boring as feck. Tedious tippy tappy football at a slow pace in areas of the pitch where no damage could be done. There seems almost an obsession with posession stats. Last nights game is exactly why we got promoted. Both those sides would have been bullied and overwhelmed by us. But they would have come off scratching their heads as they would have had at least 60% of the ball.

Agree about this "posssession obsession" business. Passing the ball around for the sake of it in your own half kills the game stone dead. A useful amount of possession in the oponents half is another matter. If either of those sides last night got up, they'd suffer the same fate as Fulham this year despite them spending all that money - there are other sides already up here who play that way far better.

We've recognised that and tried to play the opposite tactic in the same way we did last year in the Championship - don't worry too much about possession and try to get something on the break. To do that you need to keep the opposition out, particularly to half time when frustrations can start to show, and have the clinical finishers on the pitch when you do break. At the moment, and probably all season, we lack the quality defensive players at the back who can do it regularly, and up front our scoring capability is embarrassing.

More possession around the opposition box would create more chances rather than just a lump up the pitch to chase, but have we got the quality in midfield to press higher?

Nah. I can't see Newport getting promoted Masky :emoticon-0105-wink:
just watching Paul Went's old club against Wrexham.
End to end stuff. Being 1st against 2nd, it's a chance for Wrexham to open up a gap at the top.

Birmingham City in massive trouble.

Ground closure points deduction on cards.

Grealish such a good player, could do a job for us! Supporter (hmmmm...) runs onto the pitch and hits him from behind...nit! Only served to spur him on....good man! :emoticon-0103-cool:

Grealish?

I don't condone the action but Grealish, good footballer he might be, is a tosser too. I'm surprised he was able to stand up in the high wind today.

David Marshall made a superb save for Hull, great keeper for us but prefer NE, think he’s gonna turn into something special. Hull has not been a dream move for the former city favourite. Another big defeat for Swansea away to WBA! :emoticon-0103-cool:

Top 3 pulling away. WBA play offs likely.
6 points separate 7 clubs for 5th & 6th spot.
Down the bottom that ex City defender banging them in for Rotherham.
