Not just saying because it's Man City but if this hasn't been edited, it's embarrassing from the officials...

... these are meant to be professional referees. It's not even close, and to make it worse, Sterling is on the white line to HELP the assistant ffs <doh>

Edit; just realised the discussion above about second phase etc.

Good to see all the dickheads who scream bloody murder when we benefit from **** linos rush to the defence of City with excerpts from the rulebook.

Also, with regard to second phase: refer to Manes 'offside' goal at emirates. Some consistency would be nice

Now seen it... more embarrassing than I first thought. They've seen it but given it anyway!

Sterling is looking a much better player these days. Seems to be taking the right options much more regularly.

(not just based on today)

Edit; needs to show he can do it for England too

The option to be offside is definitely right when you know the ref will overrule his linesman

Law 11 Offside
Offside position
It is not an offence to be in an offside position.

A player is in an offside position if:
  • any part of the head, body or feet is in the opponents’ half (excluding the halfway line) and
  • any part of the head, body or feet is nearer to the opponents’ goal line than both the ball and the second-last opponent
  • The hands and arms of all players, including the goalkeepers, are not considered.
A player is not in an offside position if level with the:
  • second-last opponent or
  • last two opponents
Offside offence
A player in an offside position at the moment the ball is played or touched* by a team-mate is only penalised on becoming involved in active play by:
  • interfering with play by playing or touching a ball passed or touched by a team-mate or
  • interfering with an opponent by:
  • preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of vision or
  • challenging an opponent for the ball or
  • clearly attempting to play a ball which is close when this action impacts on an opponent or
  • making an obvious action which clearly impacts on the ability of an opponent to play the ball
*The first point of contact of the 'play' or 'touch' of the ball should be used
or
  • gaining an advantage by playing the ball or interfering with an opponent when it has:
  • rebounded or been deflected off the goalpost, crossbar or an opponent
  • been deliberately saved by any opponent
  • A player in an offside position receiving the ball from an opponent who deliberately plays the ball (except from a deliberate save by any opponent) is not considered to have gained an advantage.
A ‘save’ is when a player stops, or attempts to stop, a ball which is going into or very close to the goal with any part of the body except the hands/arms (unless the goalkeeper within the penalty area).

I think law 11 makes it a legit goal <ok>

No because he’s interfering with play. If he’s. It there than the defender doesn’t have the play the ball.

You didn't read the rule did you :emoticon-0100-smile
So you are still refusing to explain how the rule you copied and pasted explains how he is onside in the photo posted by Zanjinho ?
Now then let's look at reasons why you are refusing to explain your answer using the evidence available:
option 1- you don't actually understand the offside rule
or
option 2- ??????

I did, and I still don't know what you're getting at.
Read the rule, being in an "off-side" position does not break the law unless you touch the ball or interfere/stop an opponent from touching it. If an opponent then touches the ball in any other way than saving a goal he plays you on-side.
It's simple if you understand what you read.
