Out of curiosity, how do people with fat fingers (big hands) manage with the guitar, does it make it easier with barr chords, but must be a pain for muting notes <whistle>

Because the ref may not have seen, or be unable to tell if a foul was committed inside or just outside the area, for instance.

    VAR would clear that up.

It's a nice idea mate that it would stop there but we all know it won't.

Something I was wondering about on my way home on Saturday, with var reviewing every goal, if a goal is scored from a direct free kick, will they review whether it was a foul or not?

Those are what I would call the black or white decisions. It’s either offside or it’s not etc.
Subjective stuff, such as was it deliberate handball etc, will always be controversial. VAR or no VAR.

100% agree ... VAR will undoubtedly decrease human error on the big decisions (and also help diminish any unconscious bias towards the big teams) ... <cheers>

  10. I have long fingers (not fat), which is an advantage, overall.

    I very much doubt it.

I would love it for Spurs to wipe that smug grin off Little Ollie's face.

If Spurs beat United in the CL, the next photo you'd see posted all over the net would be Cantona and Fergey stringing the little fcuker up by his bollocks from the clubhouse porch.

Why has Olegend got you so rattled? You’ve found yet another way to make a tit out of yourself since he became caretaker manager.

Even long fingers can mute strings, if you don't get your wrist action right mate ;)

  16. You'd love for me to be rattled, Stan!

Unfortunately for you, however, I am simply amused.

    Highly amused, in fact.

I know that that rattles you.

    You’re right that tackle wasn’t a wreck.

    Probs a yellow though.

3 things about the penalty decision...

Firstly, a similar thing happened to Carrick in a game at Chelsea back in April 2008. I can't find a video clip but some may remember, the ball was crossed in, Carrick was running into the box and his arm was behind him. Not one person questioned the penalty decision. How do opinions change on these things or should I say, how do we decide?

Secondly, just from human nature I think the defender knew what he was doing, he remained looking at the ball while turning his back until the last split second, when he turned his head away.

I think the rule for handball should change from "deliberate" to "avoidable". That takes intent away (whilst covering intent within the definition) and instead focuses on whether the handball was unavoidable.

Finally, I watched the game with my son, we were jumping around like mad banshees when that pen went in. It's the first time he has experienced a United comeback in that way, in such a big game under extraordinary circumstances. I have plenty of those memories, but this was his first and he was buzzing. Great moment, we'll be talking about that for a while <ok>
